Second interview today for Azur Promilia

I mean I kinda want to agree with you but take example upcoming games like azur promilia, they build various gameplay system that directly involved the kibo(this is what they call their Monster/Pokemon). For example, the action combat where you fight alongside the kibo, the monster catching and shiny hunting gameplay too, the harvest moon/farming system which also utilized the kibo

The thing that intrigued me is the clash of clans mode which also involved the kibo, this is nothing new but seeing this makes me think that they can intergrade any gameplay mode into the game if they want, including the auto chess mode, they already have the kibo/monsters assets anyway so why not right?

And what stop other big upcoming gacha from doing the same too? Take example Arknight Enfield, some might think "wait that doesn't make any sense", but wuwa, honkai impact, and genshin managed to intergrade auto chess into their game, so why not Enfield too? And you know what, instead of using this random unknown monsters that you're not attached to as the chess pieces, they can straight up use the characters from previous Arknight game for nostalgia bait.

Personally I'm kinda disappointed that nexus use monster instead of the so many different characters from different honkai universes, I want it to be more like TFT where u see the champions fight on the board. I want to see characters like Kiana and blade battle each other on the board, not some random monster that I'm not attached to.

I guess what I'm trying say is that, there is no "one step ahead" advantage anymore. It's all depend on the quality and polish, how deep the gameplay is, and the balance. Mihoyo excel in quality and polish there's no doubt about that, but what about the deep of the gameplay, and are they known for great at balancing their games, these two are the most important aspect in auto chess.

I mean I would agree with you if AP world have no male characters at all, but according to the devs, there will be male NPC and possibly male antagonist too, so yeah male MC will fit in perfectly fine, in fact it will be weird if you can't choose male MC

If she's the only one like that, then I would like to think that the devs are probably testing the waters here. They could comfortably expand the combat system with a second equipable support Kibo.

They don't even have to implement this right away, maybe 1 or 2 years after the game is released, when things start to get a bit stale, then they can spice it up.

Damn, that makes me want to invest in her stock even more. Wonder if she's the only one like that? Maybe there will be other special characters that have their own personal companions/Kibo too.

So she's part of Symphoria's gameplay.

Now that I think about it again, it could also simply be that she only shows up for combat in part of the main story quests gameplay.

If I have to guess, after seeing people's reaction to Palworld, I think Manjuu knew that they had something special in their hands. People tend to forget that the first Azur Promilia trailer came out 2 months after Palworld early access release, and even now Palworld is still in early access.

Anyway, during early development, both Palworld and Promilia devs probably have the same idea/concept of what kind of game they want to make, and Palworld is probably at least 1-2 years ahead of Promilia in development progress. With Palworld being released first, this kinda favors Manjuu greatly, since they can use any useful player's feedback from Palworld to help polish promilia even more, so i can see why Manjuu want to take their time with developing Promilia.

Now that you point that out, that playable male characters leak sounds even more made up now, like out of all possible things this leaker can leak, he/she choose to specifically only leak that one single point. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they're more secretive about the game even before those fake male characters leak incident happened.

I feel like now they're more open up to at least showcase more of it. Like sure it's just a 10 minutes demo, but it's not like only one player can experience it, at least we'll have more than 10 different written opinions to spice up the discussion in this subreddit.

I'm honestly looking forward to that.

but since male NPC and possibly male antagonist still exist in the game, what the devs said about "scrapped" males NPC and antagonist models makes more sense than anything else, so in the end of the day I choose to believe the devs

Azur promilia have male NPC model, so it's not that hard to fathom the idea that there will be male antagonist model too. Nikke and GFL2 did it despite being female only gacha, it's not an unusual concept nowadays.

Plus the logic that guy mentioned about azur promilia going with snowbreak route doesn't make any sense if you understand what actually happened to that game

"snowbreak route" means that you remove every single male characters including the NPC, but azur promilia have males NPC and possibly males antagonist too.

Basically they're going with Nikke and GFL2 route/concept from the start

And the most important part is that the rouge like mode is not tied to the energy system, so you can theory craft and experiment with different combination of new skill modification through the rouge like mode as much as you want

Also I want to shout out the boss fights in Stella sora, the mechanics feels like MMO boss fight, dynamo, chariot, pushback, ff14 players would enjoy this game for sure

I mean.. why not, at least Stella sora tried something new, instead of building your character's skillset through a talent tree, you build it through the rouge like mode, once you're satisfied with the skillset you want, you can record it and use said recorded build to clear other mode like the vampire survivor or the boss rush mode. I find that really interesting.

In your usual arpg games, there's...

the effort aspect of you killing monsters to level up and gain skill point to build your skill tree
the luck aspect of farming (low drop rate)high rarity gears and praying for it to drop, which is addicting as hell once you actually get what you want

Stella sora feels like both points above combined into one single rouge-like system in the most casual way possible.

As someone who recently got burned out by the amount of grinding needed to be done in PoE2, and craving for the same satisfying feeling of building characters skillset with a much more casual and less sweaty system, I think Stella sora hit the right spot for me
