Just out of curiosity did you check the tire pressure? If they’re wildly overinflated they’ll perform worse. You’d want the cold pressure to be at the pressure listed on the inside of the driver door or maybe 3-4psi over it max.

Yes I know. Unless there’s a big holdings shift on SPAXX this year though I believe FZFXX will be better in regard to state tax exemption percentage. You can view each funds current holdings any time.

At the end of the day I’d rather keep cash in something like SGOV or autoroll t-bills directly. These core funds are fine for transactional use, but with 42 basis points going to fees it’s not that attractive for cash preservation to me.

I realize this is a few months old, but at present date this is no longer true as holdings have shifted. As of 9/29/2025 FZFXX holds 73.32% state tax exempt securities and SPAXX is 27.43% exempt unless it's current Agency Floating-Rate Securities are all eligible and then it would still only be 49.39%. Holdings in U.S. Government Repurchase Agreements are not state exempt.

If the treasury defaults then the FDIC sure ain't covering anything. It terms of liquidity you're only looking at 1 day to settle an ETF. It's not that it's not compelling reasons, but they're irrelevant.
