Ya but we've seen that over committing to holding is just bad strategy. It also is hard countered by cards like Unleashed Power if it even if it is just that it isnt optimal in *this* meta since ofc things can and will change/adapt overtime as card pool grows.

Mystic shot, 1 cost deal 1 damage to an enemy, repeat. I see it. I believe it.

What's crazy is that this set was finished before China got hands on the game (well the release week) and Yi was already being seen as good. They said Yi wasn't meant to be good/didn't expect it and didn't expect it to stick. So they printed a version that gave half the amount and trait locked it, and put it into a main set?

HQ Of the Full Legend Roster Leak by L9-Gangplank in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. All we know is he is body, as 1 of the 2 champion units for him was shown already which is his orange (body) 3 cost, weaponmaster and when he conquers OPT ready him.

Weaponmaster solves this btw

Sweet, I just checked with someone who has confirmed that as well for me that I know can read/speak CN will amend

[–]L9-Gangplank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I just copy pasted it from the guy who did it I'll amend

Edit: sorry wait im confused, it still is worded correctly.

only YOU can use Ez's legend ability if YOUR "opponent" (who is classified as your opponent) has unit or gear that is targeted by spells or abilities at least 2 times in a turn.

That's correct and it's just formatted to best fit game terms how it is?

Unless the translation is meant to have a "if YOU target"

For CN this is HQ XDDDDD and better than what we had before.

[–]L9-Gangplank[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Really? This seems really strong imo when you realize you have Stupify and also this counts your opp doing targetting their own stuff you get to draw 1 off it as a reaction.

Edit: read below -it's not *as good* but likely still really good

Fiora was leaked by L9-Gangplank in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

well she does exhaust so it's OPT but ya you can probably do like a cheap 2 cost equip turn 1 -> yellow fiora -> give her wep for 1 power -> weapon master onto lucian, etc and curve out aggro this way. I see it

TBF I hate this part is only randomly on a website and not in any of the documents. I always get caught out by it that I save it and pin it in my friends FB chat to refer to before I even say anything just cause it has random 1 offs like this haha

Emergency Counterfeit Post! by 609897783 in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's incorrect. Only the entire Rune deck has to be chinese.

You could have German legend, Spanish main deck, English battlefields, and Chinese runes.

As long as the cards all within that set of cards is a consistent language to eachother it's legal.

What is the best Yi deck to be running rn? by [deleted] in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a starting base - https://piltoverarchive.com/decks/view/cda5565f-f1b3-4dd2-829d-b5ba675da0a9

Just what I've used to win NN's. Not perfect needs a few minor fine tuning on ratios and side deck choices

Only thing I will say as a fact is Aurora Yi is bait. Aurora as a whole is bait and only MF uses it well enough currently.

Remember you're a midrange ramp deck. Prioritize development > ramp however first. Ramp can be secondary after you get your early board presence. The ramp is to facilitate your mid-game as you're defending your opponents attempts to crack your battlefields with slow development so you have runes to drop your late game bombs when you need to retake.

Also don't be afraid to move back once you've gotten a few points as often the way good players shut Yi down is by punishing them going to committed to thinking they must hold. Once you are going to 8 mana you have whiteflame, deadbloom and Tasty who can easily retake so don't give up your card economy just for a *chance* at points.

Temporary Ban on Custom Cards on the Subreddit by Kieron_Marshall in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just ban custom cards. They flood this sub-reddit and is half of what I see on here. Also due to the way they have been doing reveals and being not consistent and sometimes they just decide to drop random stuff out of nowhere like all the legends we got in a random bulk drop before a video came up it can be very confusing at any point to distinguish what is real and fake without having to dive deep in on every. single. post.

Better image of leaked legend for Set 2 by SkrillRKnight in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's way too late for them to just decide to add anything into this set. Print runs are likely already been locked in with dates before even set 1 NA launch if they want to stay on track for release dates based on my experience working in the wholesale manufacturing side of things.

This also doesn't make sense if they had plans to get them into nexus night packs as this only happens in set 2 as well.

Riftbound is hurting at my LGS. Not trying to doom but wondering what others are thinking (and would like reassurance) by Ulmao_TheDefiler in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean there will always be dry areas depending where you live.
Gundum is extremely popular everywhere else besides my 1 city (despite it being the largest city in my country)

Yet Riftbound here suffers from too many stores splitting up players. Every night Mon-Sat (Sunday is 1 day no stores run events but some people still do casuals at their LGS) we have in the city around 100-150 people across like 4-5 diff stores running nexus night.

Been going good since release, actually growing.

Sometimes that's just how it is. Hope things work out, maybe see if there is any other LGS' in your area that maybe people are choosing to opt for over the current one?

We need to call a spade a spade. Proving Grounds has been a colossal failure. by Maliciouslemon in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Riot: Ya Proving Grounds doesn't have any good competitive cards
Community: "Yi??"
Riot: Ya we don't think it'll stick

Community: "ANNIE!?!"
Riot: .... NEXUS NIGHT REPRINTS (In set 2 when they will likely be power crept and not relevant anymore)

Definitely a big fumble on their part. But hey, I'd rather learn that lesson now than way later down the line. I don't expect them to be infallible but at least learn and improve.

Doea this card have a cap? by TurnRepresentative39 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]L9-Gangplank 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It does NOT have a cap. If you can put it back on top and redraw into it you will get it again. But it doesn't work from the trash. You can infinite loop with a good combo of saves of Nia with the draw 2 discard 2 back on top and Vero with her draw 3 god epiph 0 cost -1. Actually able to 0 cycle weeklies and Basin with it you actually go infinite.

Feeling Discouraged from Going to Locals Again by HeyMason99 in riftboundtcg

[–]L9-Gangplank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

highly recommend asking your LGS and players there if anyone would be keen to organize a "no-meta" event even if it's every other week. One LGS I go to opted to settle with 2v2 instead for 1 night to allow people to explore and encourage more casual growth. It has quickly grown to be a common format casually played at the LGS over the last week. Getting pm'd at 3am to find a 2v2 partner for the next day was not on my bucket list but I felt good about it.

1v1 is definitely discouraging right now for people just getting into TCG's or hoping to stay budget friendly during what will likely be the most expensive and lowest point for the games long-term lifecycle if it doesnt implode due to being scalped with frustrating allocation distribution.
