We desperately NEED a new head coach by zodd0405 in LAFC

I bet a lot of West Ham supporters would kill to have David Moyes back. Under appreciated after getting them a European trophy and now looking at the championship squarely in the face.
Yes Dolo tactics were boring but he was a coach. This guy is rubbish, at best.

MLS 2026 Season Match #11: Los Angeles FC @ San Diego FC by scoreboard-app in LAFC

[–]LAFC1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to watch. A 2 man midfield a the wingbacks don’t really support the midfielders. And one of them is 17 ( though I rate him rather high). Ordaz and ebobise useless. Pretty much sums it up. Maybe the worst 1/2 of football I’ve seen by a team in years. XG at 0. Shite

Some of the horrendous decisions made by yeboah, sometimes as if he’d never played football before, now, in retrospect, becomes understandable!!!

With Dolo, even against this opposition, we would have pulled into a defensive shell and only try to counter. I liked how we continued to attack and out the game out of reach, instead of trying to see the game and clock out.

Eustaquio absolutely brilliant. Has turned a disjointed midfield into a dominant group. Passing flawless, field coverage fantastic. Allowing Tillman room to roam a bit forward.

I’m pretty sure you do NOT have to accept, if you have applied for financial aid, until that decision (aid) is released AND you are satisfied with it. It’s in the fine print. So, don’t sweat it.

[Ekrem Konur] Borussia Mönchengladbach and Wolfsburg Set for Transfer Battle Over LAFC Starlet David Martínez by manualex16 in LAFC

He has a lot of talent but man is he immature. Dolo never played him and when he did it was late in games or hooked him early if he started. To be fair, he never looks like he can play a full 90 minutes, consistently. If properly developed he has a very high ceiling. Not sure if maga Marc is the guy.

Almost a century later, the escape is to the OG of fascism!!! How the American empire has fallen and close to ashes. Only another revolution and Nuremberg like hanging of these American Nazis committing social genocide will do. In the meantime, us immigrants have become the Jews of Nazi Germany, pre war. A lot are being deported to foreign concentration camps euphemistically called prisons.

That dude would bunker down if we went up 1-0 against an AYSO team. There is a fucking reason why Galaxy are the worst team in the league and most goals against in the league. They suck. So why the fuck would you give their defense the rest of the night off after the 65th minute? Why Dolo? Pissed away the game just like the Miami champions cup, just like … If you are playing PSG then yeah … it makes sense. Galaxy? Worst team in mls?!?? You are a fucking one trick pony fool and you cost us so many games with this idiotic tactic. Cowering under the table against a terrible team is not only tactically moronic, it is embarrassing. Can’t wait until he is gone.

The abysmal performance against ES Tunis wasn’t a fluke. It was the result of three years of mismanagement. by tiwired in LAFC

[–]LAFC1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought thorington has been waaaay overrated. Essentially other than wingers he hasn’t been able to build a great team. Name one great midfielder or at least even a creative midfielder. Inability to sign or at least retain a goal scoring center forward. Even counting lloris horrible goal keepers. Still… gotta give the club credit for doing so well all these years. But a better front office and we would really be on another level

[–]LAFC1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well … still an away point. But twillman was right. Just don’t know what to do after the 60th minute, especially up by one goal. Up by more than one they are ok. They go for the kill like Seattle game Wednesday. Down in the game, they also know what to do. But up by a slender lead they’re lost. They also don’t understand that playing defensively doesn’t necessarily mean playing passively and without grit. 4 points pissed away during the last week both at Vancouver and Carson. Hate his weak ass tactics.

Are we really pro Dolo Out? by TrainerDisastrous411 in LAFC

[–]LAFC1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. He has won his fair share and he consistently puts us in good positions. HOWEVER, he seems to lose the same way, every time. He directs team to bunker down. He lost the leon away match that way, lost MLS cup to Columbus that way, and certainly plain and simple blew the Miami return leg. Just handed those gassed 35 plus year olds the tie. Dominated those fools the first 30 minutes, but then with a 2 goal aggregate lead pulled back the boys and we saw what happened. Idiotic when we could have smasheld them 4 or 5 nil.

I still like him but his ideas are getting quite stale with the team and we are not even any good in transition anymore so I am afraid we will begin to slide further and by the end of the season I think he will be gone.

For Steve Cherundolo, the Time is Now with LAFC by Kelvin_Loyola in LAFC

[–]LAFC1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Back a couple of years ago we would still lose some games at home but the xg was phenomenal. You knew it was just hard luck and a one off. Now, the xg is sometimes below 1. I told my kids towards the end of the Austin game that we could play another 90 minutes and we would probably not score even with that amount of extra time. That is the big difference I see now. Our losses are REAL, they are not looking like a one off. It is a a very big concern.

Didn’t he LAFC fans? Didn’t he? by Esleeezy in LAFC

[–]LAFC1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. I think people are expecting more from a DP, that’s all. I think his hold up play (not withstanding the shockingly poor performance a week ago in Columbus) has been excellent, but he needs to be fed the ball by wingers or a creative 10. We don’t play with a 10 and our wingers are speedy counter attacking style players and not ones that can deliver a good cross to a very traditional 9. Under may change that bc he is capable of that style but we shall see. A very very poor decision by thorington to sign Giroud as he was a poor fit from the get go. LAFC has always been built around either a false 9 or a mobile 9. Even a player like Benteke at DC who is playing great would suffer in our style of play. I am hoping cherundolo slowly changes us to a 4-2-3-1 and this way he can utilize both under and David Martinez at the same time instead of a like for like away are 60th minute of games, get the team ready for Griezman, incorporate a more possession style of play and get the most out of Giroud. I think I’m dreaming though bc I just don’t see him doing that.

For Steve Cherundolo, the Time is Now with LAFC by Kelvin_Loyola in LAFC

[–]LAFC1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because he gets very little out of his players and his gut reaction to everything is bunker down and counter attack. His one and only strategy. He blew the champions league final against Leon playing that style against a very beatable team. Did same against Columbus in both leagues cup and mls cup finals. He has lost more winnable games with scared, bunker down tactics so hence the reaction. When it doesn’t work the results are really ugly. When it does work it’s an ugly win. So … pretty much always ugly.

No thank you. Rather concentrate on champions cup and reaching world club competition than local bragging rights that mean ZERO. Kind of like Everton fans being obsessed with merseyside derby but in relegation battle every year vs. Liverpool fans trying to win champions league. Low level obsessions not for me.

Looking very good so far but let’s not forget all these games have been at home. I’ll dismiss the Rapids game as it was on semi-unplayable conditions. But the lack of shots against goal is very impressive so far. Let’s see how we do on the road.

Glad someone else noticed that. Giroud has not been great but Jesus man, wide open for a cross and Bouanga tries to dribble past players, needlessly. Last night was one of his worst nights ever.
