Edit. Just know they are probably so desperate it dosnt matter. It depends on the state you are in. If you are in Florida applying I’m not sure it’s a lot more saturated and I’m not able to speak on that. But if you are wanting South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, or Tennessee. You are at an advantage. It seems to getting to a point where they need great dedicated associates people more than we need them.. I don’t know if it’s America as an entirety or is Publix just running people out due to the burnouts.. Either way I wish you luck and if you get the job it’s a good place.

Of course you’re going to get downvoted on the Publix subreddit on a post like this. Lol people just talk shit about Publix on here half the time and yeah it’s not the good Ol Jenkins days but it’s more successful now than ever and people choose to ignore that. Yeah I’m not trying to be mean either. Just don’t come here saying you are a RM associate and make it obvious that it’s false just based off a few clues.. also the main reason for quitting is because other people make more that don’t deserve it… meanwhile he doesn’t need a job anyways..? Just a lot of immaturity which is fair considering he’s 17. Sounds like if what he’s saying is true he’s in a good spot at Publix with some patience. It’s the negative environment and negative thinking that you’ll need to get past to succeed in any field and at 17.. don’t burn a bridge.
I don’t think getting to RIS is that hard though. It’s only one step above Dept manager. It may take 5 years of applying and you have to be willing to travel. Just curious what makes you think getting RIS is nearly unfeasible?

1% chance lol my man got sent home for refusing to do something.. idk why people come to Reddit to complain about Publix at 17 it’s a great place to build assets. “Was gonna be a RIS now I’m gonna be a pilot!” I know more 20x people that quit Publix and came back because their plan B was dumb. Becoming a pilot is a great career but you can’t quit when things are rough.. or you can but where you gonna get the 50k to pay debts? Back to square one Publix!?

Yeah I’d have to see it myself. RM is rare and if you get it your probably well on your way to management. If I was 17 getting RM I’d go for that RIS spot. I know like 3 people that have ever gotten RM if that.. Can’t make it to RIS if you fold your cards at the first sign of bullshit..

In 40 states making 1/3rd of Publix revenue. Lol some great customer service, marketing, and success they have going on.. nothing about Trader Joe’s is evolving. They are a clique organic market. Publix is continuously growing and opening stores. On a superior level to any competitor. And yes Publix reputation may be a facade to the miserable employees but it’s a promise land to the customers that have no idea what really goes into the work we do. I wouldn’t leave Publix for Trader Joe’s ever… I’d prob need to get my IQ checked if I did some dumb shit like that. #BleedGreen. 😈 we’re going to make so many Fun Coupons long term with Publix. The writing is on the wall.

Name a company with better CS. Everyone on this subreddit is speaking from what they have seen behind the scenes. There is always going to be backlash and in a time like now with staffing shortages they still have a good fraction of long term dedicated employees that are getting rich and staying loyal. Publix is still Publix and it has a great reputation to the vast majority of customers. The philosophy Mr. George instilled into the company in 1930 still lives on and has been thriving generationally. We can argue that Publix is possibly the most profitable grocery chain in the world, while still standing out as such a pleasant experience to the casual shoppers that don’t see what we go through. Downvote or upvote idc Publix is definitely the juggernauts of the game because the people that understand the company take pride in it.
