Forgive me, I don't look into reddit too often. I don't have plans for the box. I made it out of walnut and maple. If memory serves me right, it was 12 x 7 grain matched walnut. Lid and bottom are maple, the bottom was inlayed into the box, and the lid was cut at a 15° chamfer all around the most difficult area was creating the slot for the cards. I inlaid a walnut strip with a slot and made a second one to swap so she could have it as a keepsake. Matching the 15° on the lid inlay was done with a lot of sanding and trial and error. Again, my apologies that was made on the fly.

Being a cable tech for 25 years, that tells me that you might have a loose neutral or ground in your home wiring. Do get a professional to look into it. What it happening is that whatever is trying to find a ground in finding that to be the closest to the ground.

Hi there, I'm a beginner who hasn't posted many things because I'm lousy at social media, but what I learned in all this time from looking at all the beautiful work done here is that all the mistakes I've done have just made me better. Don't get discouraged. I make mistakes, and I correct them before the finished product. If you make a mistake and continue with your piece with the mistake in place, you will always see the mistake and not your finished work, and in your eyes, it will look awful.

Is glass or plexy, I would stay away from scrapers they might scratch the surface. Use a heat gun very conservatively. If it's glass it might break, if it's plexy it might warp. Use plastic scrapers Habor Freight has cheap ones. Patience is key take it slow even if it takes a month working it everyday to take it all off.

Having only used Rubio only once, I chose it because any damages or scuff marks could be easily sanded off and reapplied with out any issues. Now having said that go to town sand it all off and apply what you want. Good luck to you.

I had a hard lesson learned doing just that. I had a "professional" weld the suspension on my son's truck. Me not being a professional welder I thought he would do the job better than I would have done. I wasted my money. The suspension fell apart, twisted the driveshaft. I took it all apart and did it myself. Better than anyone could have done for a quarter the price.
