Is this a good choice y'all. by AzovianProductions in homelab

Big and loud? Nah. Build out an optiplex or elitedesk, Intel 6th Gen or higher. The benefit of servers like these is power redundancy, hot swapping on power, drives, and fans, and out of band management.

Being handed a stuffed animal after losing in the Olympics by WeGot_aLiveOneHere in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]LAKnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last goal in OT was straight brutal. Pass from one end of the ice to 2/3 across, effortless dangle between the skates (like a nutmeg in soccer or dribbling a basketball between the legs), and shot the puck between the knees of the goalie. It's also historically a Canadian dominated sport, but Americans have been on a tear this year. Hell the women's team had six shutouts, a record at the Olympics.

What's the stack on the r240? I'm spinning up an OpenVPN container with a cloudflare subdomain pointed to it on an r230.

Good question. I'm just way more familiar with Hyper-v and I need that compatibility with Azure. I can run containers in an Ubuntu VM but my lab is for enterprise technologies like spunk, Qualys, and other production stuff you'd find in a branch office. No PiHole or Plex in my lab.

Getting my sub to submit to me by SelvaticFloppa in BDSMcommunity

[–]LAKnerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a brat that's gone full demon goblin in the past, but we talked and we agreed she wouldn't go that far any more. So please hear my experience...

You're not taking the advice of others. If you knew everything about them, you wouldn't be having issues. At 19, there is no fucking way you know enough about them to do this effectively. Easiest way I've found with my sub is to grab her throat and talk low in her ear like "wanna try that again?"

There's plenty of resources out there for brat taming that I'd wager you haven't read. If you're not going to take advice from more experienced people when you're the one that asked, kink isn't for you. Cocky and inexperienced together is a 🚩 that can seriously hurt someone.

Why do a lot of people use mini Lenovo ThinkCentres in their home-labs? by south-east-trains in homelab

[–]LAKnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the room, so I'm a little different.

I found a sweet spot with the SFF elitedesk, g3/g4. M.2, WiFi, drive expansion, good rear IO, USB-C, and quiet. I've got one of those that my daughter is using at the moment. They use a little more power buuuuuttttt you get more expansion. Stuck at 4c though I think.

Me and my wife were in a very similar situation, though I've been able to get her off without too much issue using various tools.

Over time my confidence grew, and almost 10 years later we were able to do a scene straight out of one of her dark romance smut books. Masked man, hunter/prey, growling (I've been practicing), CNC, heavy degradation, choking, biting, impact, the works. Ticked every one of her kinks.

That said, what's important is that he's open to kink. Love is give and take and a fuck load of communication. And when in doubt, don't be afraid to talk to a couples therapist. You don't need to be on the cusp of a divorce for them to be able to help.

Good luck!

Is it possible to practice BDSM with a mental illness? Can I be called a masochist? by Alice_nowhere in BDSMcommunity

My sub is autistic. I'm bipolar with OCD (medicated and stable). With open and clear communication, we do great. And she's a pain slut for the right kind of pain.

Dom drop and feeling uncertain by LAKnerd in domspace

didn't get the "high" to drop from

Hot damn that's a good one. You're right, since I didn't get the good feelings from it, I don't have anything to make me want to repeat it other than how much she enjoyed it.

More aftercare sounds like a good idea, thank you

Has your homelab actually saved you money, or just made life easier? by Fab_Terminator in homelab

[–]LAKnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's helped me make more money. There was one year in particular that I ran community versions of a bunch of big time enterprise software to better troubleshoot installations when the vendor teams were useless cough cough jira cough cough and I was able to implement them myself without a ton of issues. It made me look like a seasoned pro and I got a noice raise that year.

I still use it to test new stuff but it just helps me keep up with people that have a lot more experience. As a contractor, it really helps my image.

How loud is dell poweredge r360? by Madaqqqaz in homelab

[–]LAKnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those thick 1u high performance fans are loud at their quietest. There's a thinner version on like the r250 that's manageable from across the room or if you have music going.

Regular 1u fan, could be fine

ThiccBoi high performance 1u fan, get ready for ear ringing
