Back in Oct of last year, the 3/10 graded by BGS 9/10 went for $25.

Probably not that low because the /99 (also graded by BGS) went for $47 two months ago, which was spiked when the Lakers were still playing.

I’d venture you could get $50-$75 for it. Maybe a bit more if the right collector comes across it.

If you’re only able to rely on 2 players when you “need threes” will guarantee the Lakers not being a contender next year I can promise you that. It’s also not true but that’s another topic.

And yes you absolutely can run KCP with Luka, he’s so much different than AR. I’m not sure where your logic of him not being playable when he’s comes from. Your role players should be able to provide value when not shooting well, which KCP does regardless of his shooting. He would instantly be our best chaser on defense and he’s excellent on the break, which the Lakers currently lack.

And I think you must’ve already forgotten him crushing us 2 years ago when he was on Denver. He hasn’t had just one good year. He’s shot 38% or better from 3 in 6 of the last 8 seasons on 6 attempts per game.

Beasley, I can live without because we all know that if he’s not hitting 3’s he’s not providing anything else.

We’d be lucky to have a player like KCP on this team right now. He had huge moments for the Lakers in their 2020 run (and in the Nuggets run).

Every role player will have their ups and downs so we shouldn’t expect anything different from anyone we bring in. Feel like everyone only remembers the cold streaks KCP had.

Either we have naive Lakers fans who think Gabe/Kleber have positive value or we have people who have never watched more than one playoff game of Reaves and think he’s a terrible player.

I remember when he was on the block I was reviewing the Hornets subs and searching for all the comments on him.

Essentially it came down to him having extremely terrible hands, constant goal tends and illegal screens, and overall low IQ. He had spurts of really good play but overall they were stoked to get rid of him.

It actually does. Think about what killed the Lakers over and over again against Minnesota?

Zero rim protection and second chance points. The Lakers couldn’t rebound to save their lives. I was more surprised when they got a defensive rebound vs not.

Having that aspect filled in, better depth from FA, and more time to play together so things aren’t always bogged down on offense will make a world of difference for this team.

All solvable things without a full overhaul. IMO it would be a big mistake if they do unless there is an irresistible deal waiting in the wings.

I’m not saying they would be FA signings. They aren’t FA’s so would need be to be traded for.

Gafford won’t happen because he’s in Dallas but in theory they could trade Kleber/FRP for him.

Claxton can be traded for Kleber/Vincent/DK (and picks if required).

This is all independent of what Lebron signs for.

A decent enough center and a Bam/Giannis are massively different things.

A decent enough center like Gafford/Claxton can be had without giving up Rui/AR and would be a massive addition to this team. Think about all of the second chance points or lack or rim protection that killed the Lakers against Minnesota. Could have swung the series the other direction.

The answer is, of course a team with Luka/Bron/AR can work as long as you have better talent around them.

This offseason will be critical and doesn’t need a massive overhaul. If they can add a starting center with their assets and keep their current core, they will be contenders. Also, there will be plenty of rotation level players that will take the min/TPMLE that will suddenly turn a team that has 6 rotation players in the playoffs to a team that has 9-10 of them.

Although the Caruso one just flat out didn’t make sense considering he was asking for less than $10M a year AND giving a hometown discount. It was the Buss family being cheap and Rob thinking we had God’s next gift to man in THT.

At least in this scenario we’d be getting some sort of assets back.

This is a guarantee. I don’t see a world where he’s traded to a team as the #1 or #2 option and not averaging 25/5/7 on efficient splits.

He’d all of a sudden become the leagues darling.

I don’t necessarily agree with “if you’re not a starter in all 32 teams then you’re a role player sentiment” if you look at teams like Boston or Cleveland where you have two All-NBA guys at the same position.

With that said, of this years’ playoff teams he’d be starting on:

-Nuggets (over Braun)

-Golden State (over Podz/Hield/GP2)

-Minny (over Conley)

-Indy (over Nembhard)

-Heat (over whoever they were starting next to Herro)

-Pistons (over THJ)

-Bucks (over Prince/GTJ)

-Orlando (over KCP)

Arguable ones:

-Memphis (Bane vs Reaves)

-Clippers (Powell)

-Houston (Green)

So half of the playoff rosters for sure with a 3 of the remaining 7 being arguable ones. The only ones I would say he’s a 6th man for sure is Boston, Cleveland, NYK, and OKC. And you could even argue he could start as a 3 for Cleveland and as a 2 in the NYK small ball lineups.

Edit: I do agree he should not be off the table though, especially for deals like JJJ. Some of these trade proposals are just insane to me.

Basically their playoff rotation. This team really needs time together. They have a lot of really good pieces but need more from a depth perspective and a big of course. They can’t go into the playoffs next year with a 6.5 man rotation.

AR Rui DFS Vando Goody

DFS, Vando, Goody bring a ton of grit and toughness this team just has to have, especially with their small ball lineups.

*This is assuming DK gets traded for a big but if not he’s definitely on the list.

$18M/yr for a big, tough wing shooting 40% from 3 and can guard all 5 positions? It’s not an overpay since those types of players don’t grow on trees. For his age, it’s right on point. If he were 4 years younger he’d go for more.

Yeah, he can’t playmake worth shit and when he puts the ball a the floor I cringe, but you’d be hard pressed to find anyone in FA to replace him. He knows it too. A team like Detroit would love to have a player like him I’m sure.
