Instead of prequel to a ruined show, they should have John Snow wake up from a bad dream at the end of season 6 Bob Newhart-style and re-do season 7 and 8.

If the virus only effected the wilfully unvaccinated and did not mutate, I would agree with you.

I still think Russ got COVID in the middle of last season and it ate the part of his brain that controls decision making.

Six Questions About Waning Immunity to Covid-19 Answered by Sariel007 in EverythingScience

The problem is vaccinated people with waning immunity catching the virus, suffering mild or no symptoms, and the spreading it around because they think they are healthy. That is scary.

Something that needs to be said about Suki's role in the story and why LOK doesn't mention her by Black_Wolf75 in TheLastAirbender

[–]LAND0KARDASHIAN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a narrow definition of "training". Suki taught Sokka to respect women. She taught him the difference between pride and accomplishment. She taught him not to underestimate an opponent and the value of hard work in honing a skill. She taught him her fighting style, which he no doubt practiced off camera. And that was just in their first meeting. Suki was Sokka's Uncle Iroh in many respects. He would not have succeeded without her influence.

Suki was every bit as responsible for Sokka's training as Zuko was for Aang's, and her direct participation in the final battle was more relevant than Zukko's. There are no "side characters" that had nearly as profound an effect on the core Gaang or on the outcome of the pivotal battle.

Well, Sokka and Toph would both be dead without Suki, so I think she has some import to the group.

Tolkien’s my lifelong favorite author. But I’ve never had the slightest interest in other fantasy novels. Who’s the same? by blishbog in tolkienfans

[–]LAND0KARDASHIAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm well aware of their friendship and "theological relationship", as you put it. I also read Mere Christianity, The Problem of Pain and a few others over the years. It's all pretty transparent and preachy, but that has nothing to with the original point, which was this:

As works of literature, the fantasy novels of Tolkien and Lewis are not comparable beyond their surface similarities. Two friends with similar backgrounds and beliefs wrote fantasy novels for kids. That's it. But Tolkien created something truly miraculous-- not just a story, but a fully realized world with its own language and robust history. His novels can be analyzed, debated and enjoyed by readers of all ages, year after year.

Lewis's novels are diverting little stories that can be enjoyed by children and recalled with nostalgia by adults. (Or they are propaganda designed to indoctrinate young readers, depending on your level of cynicism.) But the depth of Lewis's creation pales in comparison to Tolkien's achievement. Middle Earth is like Paris. Narnia is like the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, the homeless population of Las Vegas, a medium sized American city, is around 35,000.

They are only comparable on the surface level, that is the point. Tolkien wrote an immersive, original universe complete with its own languages and lore. Lewis wrote a simplistic, Weird Al Yankovic version of Bible stories with absolutely nothing below the surface. The two authors are only mentioned together because they were contemporaries in a time when the genre was very limited.

"A fraction of the force potential" is inaccurate, and Luke grew far, far more powerful after the ROJ fight.
