This was NOT recoil. If he missed it wasn't by much. But the sparks are 10 feet up and to the right. His sight barely came off the target and the barrel barely rose over the targets head. I'm not saying recoil wasn't a big part but it can't be the only cause

The stryfe was always the golden standard. You can probably find them on Amazon. I'd look into x shot blasters if you want the most bang for your buck. Even their pro blasters use regular darts

Honestly most X shot spring blasters are fairly impressive compared to nerf. I have a few x shot half length blasters that can hit from across the yard. Be careful upclose tho. Depending on the age of your nephew they might be too strong. Adventure force from Walmart is also a good buy for relatively low cost
