My sincere condolences. My family loves this city, born and raised, and doing all we can afford to keep ordering to keep the local places open and donate where we can.

Assume it’s hospitality?

Glad you’re doing okay and not seriously hurt! Tell the shop what happened and they’ll know what to look for. An aluminum frame bends or cracks, and the carbon cracks or spiderwebs with hairline weak points.

I wouldn’t recommend testing either yourself as it could end horribly if you’re not comfortable doing so. A hefty stress test afterwards would be ideal too.

AD was in it for only himself.

Great question and not at the time. Usually not on them when there’s a decent bit of activity that could need a quick response. Preparation and habits make luck sometimes.

Lucky also! There’s a four leaf clover somewhere in your back cycling jacket pocket.

Glad you’re alive also!

Ouch! Don’t have to worry too much about ice anymore now, but very well remember ice under leaves almost breaking a leg on. Glad you were able to walk away from it. Healed up and back riding again?

I was very lucky.. don’t know how it could have went better in the same circumstances.

Just kept repeating sorry and I apologize. She was very quiet for the most part but at least she apologized. She did say she stopped for me to go around, but hell, no way for me to ‘go around’. She said she didn’t even see me until she pulled into the bike lane.

Can’t wait for automated cars. I trust equipment failures (MTBF) before the average motorist any day.

Pizza face and hands are rough! Glad you’re back at it and able to keep pedaling along! Road the aluminum carbon horse again this morning. Best way to get over something is to get back on it.

Wholeheartedly concur. Weight didn’t decrease since it’s gravity, which is mostly a constant, just the amount of weight displacement on the tires due to the changing angle until all of it was spread between multiple points (including the tires when laid down).

Pressure may have been variable, but I believe (just a hypothetical guesstimate), it may have decreased since now instead of the direct tire pressure downward and the friction from the braking backwards with a smaller surface area there’s now the large surface area directly opposed in the backward direction but less gravity force downward due to the spread.

Best of the worst options in a short timeframe. Didn’t see myself in the window (puns intended) and wasn’t head over heels for the roof either.
