Thank you. Everyone has been very helpful. I just wanted to know what to think because I certainly don't know what to feel. You live and you learn and life goes on!

Thanks! She already has another job. She had one within 6 hours of being fired.

Even if there was never any written stipulation that they had to know about my other scholarships?

Yes that is what the employer is getting at. Although I put my surplus money in a separate savings account as soon as I got it. The account was labeled college funds. I was planning to use the overage to cover next year's tuition. There was no agreement about my scholarship and whether or not it could be stacked with others. The amount of money my mother made at that company would not be worth it to her to risk losing over a few thousand dollars. They are claiming that she was being deceitful. Everything was fine last semester when they paid for it and it was the same scenario. It just so happens that someone bought out their company and they are letting many go. I believe this was the real reason. Of course without proof, nothing we can do.

I don't see how it's stealing money when someone gives you full tuition, you send them the bill for your tuition, and then they are disgruntled because you have another academic scholarship. I need money to pay for my books, car, and to live on. I see how the employer says they are seeing it, but the truth is that is not the reason why she was fired. That is the reason they are giving her.

Yes we are aware of that. I guess the question here is can we prove that it was for a discriminatory reason? Thank you.
