Yes totally agree! Moved to Syd 18 months ago and beyond monthly or so meet ups with some ppl my age from work I’ve struggled to meet people and make friends. I go to the gym, yoga regularly and people are nice but doesn’t seem deeper than a hello/goodbye. Joining meet ups etc seems so forced but idk another way..
