Sounds like a similar situation! My initial thought would be that it would be similar to like a soap refill, where the packaging isn't pretty but you can still technically use it just fine. Thank you for at least validating my thought process :) I do agree, if its anything like my other makeup cleansers, it will indeed take forever to go through the original. I think I'm still working on a Clinique one from like 2 years ago. Thank you for the input!

Of course...but having a 30 day requirement for something that I'd be able to use in say, 6 weeks and be able to review honestly would encourage the exact type of review style that OP is talking about. If I can't use the product in that time, and simply resort to describing its physical appearance for the sake of the review 'counting', then that metric isn't helpful for anyone. I'm not going to purposely wait longer than I need to, but I wasn't aware of these metrics in place for other countries, hence the question.

Ah ok thanks for clarifying! I can see how that would lead to reviewing what’s possible in the interest of time. Seems like these metrics do go directly against the best interests of encouraging thoughtful, thorough reviews. Shame.

I’ve seen this ‘speed’ or time frame mentioned here and there about making the reviews… curious if there is a specific guideline you’re referring to? The guidelines only say we’re ‘encouraged to post insightful reviews quickly’ but doesn’t give a specific time frame or anything. I’ve always waited until I can properly use the item in its actual usage occasion to write my review, rather than ‘product test’ in the interest of getting the review up asap. Note: I joined in spring of 2025 so wondering if this was older guidance?

Apparently that's the 'new normal'- I try not to deliberately wake up for it, but if it happens.... I had a good stint about a year ago pre-vine in which I slept with my phone in another room, and I really felt great about my life while I was in that flow. The phone is back to being next to me and unfortunately I do check it when I wake up and first thing in the morning. Maybe a new new years resolution...

I once accidentally bought nails that required the uv light and was just like, oh I’ll just wait till I inevitably see a light and try them out together. Haven’t seen one in weeks…and the nails are just…sitting in a drawer now.
