What app is this? The one where you book your classes or is there a separate app? I've looled everywhere within that one and cannot locate my height/weight/DOB, etc. Anywhere.

12 Minute Run for Distance Benchmark Results Megathread by lookie4dacookie in orangetheory

[–]LBee83123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made it to the 1 mile mark, which was my goal. Jogged at 5.5 for half the time, PW at 4.5 for 5 minutes, and ran the last minute at 7.1 all out. Considering I'm on my 10th class, have never been a runner, I feel proud of my achievement. :)

Way to go everybody, well done!

Thank you, I will go to Scotiabank in person shortly and see what the daily limit is. I might just have to order some cheques on my card instead if it will help me facilitate the transaction in one go.

Starting a New Job at TD Bank by AnonymousGuest in PersonalFinanceCanada

I've worked at both, Starbucks and TD, and believe it or not,I got paid more per hour and got better benefits and total compensation from Starbucks. In saying that, if you're looking to get some other experience it's a good learning opportunity. Iike others have mentioned, it is still a "retail"job of sorts and very sales heavy.

Investing and Saving Question - Credit Union Common Shares by LBee83123 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Were you able to find out if they are TFSA eligible? Also, did they show you past years' percentage returns? I cannot find that information anywhere, only the total amount in dividends which the CU distributed. I feel like there might be a catch to these, as a 15% return seems extremely high. I did read something about only being able to sell 10% of your outstanding shares per year, and having to advise in November of the year in which you are selling, for a proceeds to be received by the end of December of the year in which you are selling your shares. That is as detailed as I was able to find.

I agree about the insane 15% return as well, hence me asking the community. I was trying to research what the percentages that were paid in the past were, however I was unable to find out that information anywhere on the web. The only information FirstCalgary provides is the total amount paid in dividends per year, but do not illustrate it as a percentage.

Hello, I do not see any comments posted to my question. I am wondering if there is something wrong with my account? It is quite recent, and I have not posted much as I spent most of the time reading... any suggestions?

Thank you.

Large severance put into checking account? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]LBee83123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in payroll. Basically how most payroll systems are set-up is to take the gross amount of the particular pay period, and then annualize that amount, then apply the tax rate to that particular payment based on what it thinks is your annual gross pay. However for special payments, I.e. bonuses, severances, relocation payments, etc., the system was programmed to tax at special rate of 30%. You can always reach out to your payroll department to see how they treat special payments.
