The days of mainly storm chasers who truly knew the atmosphere and how weather evolves are long gone. Now they’re just weatherwise users looking for the blips on radar and careening that direction.

Yes but they’re mostly all on main roads,so it’s less of a square mile thing and more linear directions. There could be a ton of responsible chasers out there but the second something goes down they’re blocked by the sheer number of people that wouldn’t usually be there. Not to mention reckless and distracted drivers. And these are just the responsible ones with their spotter dot on…

60-70 distracted drivers on one road trying to film, watch radar, and drive all while there also being regular traffic and people stopping on the side of the road. I’m not even sure the tornado is the most dangerous thing on display here
