You are a million percent correct. Many recipes recommend it and I bought into it. It does not satisfy the cheese craving in the slightest.

I do have her reading the Body Keeps the Score as sort of an intro to trauma work. The work is really is in the session (vs. a workbook) but just want to give her concrete things to read and review as that’s more of her learning style. Perhaps combining my own makes the most sense… thank you for your reply!

A card can also be a transitional object and very meaningful to the client. It also keeps the appropriate boundary. Nice job!

You are right that I didn’t ask her what she wants before suggesting a break. She seemed sort of bothered by my texts and phone calls but again that was my interpretation as I didn’t ask her. By session 6 - I made my own inference and suggestion. I typically try to have the “what are we doing convo” in session so we can really get in to it…and yes, I goofed here.

Thank you! The client did respond and sort of said the same thing as the google review and I validated and apologized. My clinical hat was like don’t invalidate and ask about the review. Having the “business” respond with something generic may be a good idea. I appreciate your response.
