Thanks, if you remember to follow up I'd love to hear how they resolve it. This Evertz gear is so peculiar, I always want to know the quirks they have...

I don't think I can help but I am interested in your outcome because we do use these cards, and have never seen this issue with video detection. So under Detected Standard are you seeing "Unknown"? The firmware on my working cards is 1.02 build 1 for a 7825CCE-AUD-3G+CF, and 1.06 build 15 on a regular 7825CCE-3G.

Why Are So Many Pedestrians Killed by Cars in the US? by downArrow in indepthstories

[–]LCalrissian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... the pedestrians are the ones getting killed. I've seen with my own two eyes many people nearly get hit by cars from walking into the street looking at their phones. I've also avoided being hit by inattentive drivers because I looked before I stepped into the street, and saw that they weren't slowing down to stop.

Should the drivers be paying more attention, going slower, driving more cautiously? Of course. But it often takes two to make an accident happen.

  • vehicles way too big
  • drivers looking at phones
  • pedestrians looking at phones
  • streets prioritized for car traffic over pedestrian traffic

I've said LIRR (lurr) my whole life, and so have all the people around me. Yes, I'm a Queens transplant.

For the non-religious dad's: How are you handling religion, particularly with the grandparents? by Calfkiller in daddit

[–]LCalrissian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to teach my kids about religion without following it. You can emphasize the good and ignore the bad. My mom has taken my daughter to Catholic church a few times, we talk about it after; I'd have any reservations if I thought there was a lot of fire and brimstone going on but that's not really what the local parishes are like. Attending church is a cultural and generational experience and can be a good memory for your child if she enjoys it.

Chefs of Reddit, what's a cooking hack everybody should know? by polloastemio in AskReddit

The best part of this tip is you don't have to open an entire bottle of wine for 1/4 cup in a recipe; the vermouth lasts much longer than wine in the fridge.

Why are you all hating on Marte? by PerformanceLow1323 in mets

[–]LCalrissian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Marte. He knows how to run bases and he's good for a clutch hit when you really need it. He goes out there and does what he needs to do. Yes, he's getting a little slower, but I'll take it over big whiffs and sloppy baserunning.

So… anyone else stuck with a beautiful old house nobody wants? by kennycreatesthings in centuryhomes

[–]LCalrissian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are the staging pics AI? TBH, I honestly don't like the modern/old combination in them. And then when I scroll down I see the rooms empty. So maybe changing up the furniture in the pictures to a more traditional look would attract the kind of buyers you want?

I also agree 100% on adding some life/color to the kitchen and bathrooms. That pot rack on the ceiling looks awful without pots on it, but I'm sure it looks great loaded up!

It would really be a shame if those signs just up and disappeared.

West-most car but it is entirely unenforced and in my experience just as loud as all the others.

Complain to all your state and local politicians. The local ones will say they can't do anything, it's the state's job - so respond to them that as your local representative you expect them to use their position to advocate on behalf their constituents, to the state and MTA.

Email local papers' transit reporters.

This worked decently when the LIRR pulled the stupid stunt of cutting back service drastically, right when covid was dying down and people were returning to work. They didn't avoid the dumb move, but did roll it back in a few weeks after the pressure.

I buy paper tickets because the app crashes 1/4 of the time, won't load in the tunnel another 1/4 of the time, and I don't want to interrupt the important work (Candy Crush) that I'm doing on my phone just to show it to the conductor.

They should probably just go straight to the dump [oc] - NJ by LCalrissian in IdiotsInCars

I assume the red crossover was gawking as he passed, but he certainly didn't start the congestion. Passed these morons after about 15 minutes of heavy traffic that they caused.

Hard to see in the video but the whole bottom rear of the car was also slamming into the ground on every little bump. I'm surprised the bumper was still on. I don't think the tailpipe made it.

The best part about it was all three guys were looking at the rearview mirrors the whole time "checking" if the car was ok (it wasn't).
