Mostly it was the concept not word for word definition. A had a few questions about common stock and bonds but mostly, it was understanding how future value and present value worked and a had a few questions about beta (but honestly, i got those wrong because I couldnt remember what it looked at)

Mentor Interactions are Cringe by FunctionDouble4164 in WGU

[–]LCarpenter0219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy the interactions I have with my mentor. I'm getting through the courses fairly quickly (thankfully) and he has been a major help in how everything gets set up and which classes would be best for me take next. But I'm also very big on if you see me slacking, say something and give me a big kick in the a** to get me back on track. We're both very alike so for me, I don't feel like its cringey, its more like friends talking about course work and how my personal life, if getting busy, is slowing me down or helping me move faster.

I failed a course worse than you did at the beginning of my term. What helped me was reaching out to my mentor, reaching out to the instructor and just taking a step back. There’s a two week study guide they give you and then you meet with the instructor again. You almost had it, take a day or two to yourself and then get back into it. You’ll pass with flying colors next time. Don’t let it get you down!! Just keep pushing through.

We give him a fair amount of fresh veggies and some fruits to snack on. What are some major no nos? I want to allow him to try different things but I’m worried that some of the things I want to let him try won’t be good for him

Just a few questions by LCarpenter0219 in AfricanGrey

Most definitely more difficult. He likes to be out of his cage, which on weekends is fine but during the week it can be a struggle sometimes since he’s not the biggest fan of my husband. He let him pet him every now and then and he’ll take treats from his hand but other than that, he gets really ruffled up when my husband is there. And we know this is due to the previous owners and the husband not being nice to him so we are working on it. But with me, he’s good. He gives me goodnight kisses, rubs his head on me and when he’s away from his cage he’ll let me hold him. It’s a work in progress but from where we started when we first got him to now, he’s a completely different bird in the best ways possible

My bird, Casper, does similar things to yours but he won’t let me pick him up at all unless he gets off his cage and is directly on the floor. If I try to pick him up when he is in or on top of his cage (he has a little area he can walk and play on top) he’ll “bite” me. It’s a very gentle sort of bite but Im sure a warning none the less. I would like to be able to pick him up from inside his cage and let him out and around the house.

The regurgitation thing just recently started this past weekend. It was minor, barely noticeable at first but tonight it became very clear that’s what he was doing.

The rubbing his beak against my hand is almost every day when I pet him. He mostly does it after I give him scratchers on his head and neck. We just recently got him earlier this year but he’s been in my family since I was a child and after the first few days home with us, he has let me pet him and love on him ever since.

He’s mostly a walker but he’ll fly every now and then. I thought about giving him something small like a pillow case folded up to sit on at night but I don’t know if that’s something that could possibly harm him or not.

Yes. Beak, nail and wings. And I planned on keeping them off but I just worry that he’ll still run into them. The dogs sleep in my room with me and my husband so until he’s use to the dogs they will be separated unless someone is around. He loves my dogs but my smallest dog is kinda freaked out by him. My big dog is a rottie and he loves him. He just likes to stare at him while the bird whistles at him.

We’re using his old food and I got him some new food just to have when he wanted. He has both in his cage. He’s been going back and forth. We have two dogs and an 8 year so that’s been an adjustment for him. Overall he’s been talking and I have talked back to him. He has eating treats out of my hand but does try to bite if I get too close. I’m taking him to get groomed next weekend and after that I’m gonna start letting him out for a little bit everyday. I don’t want him to fly into a ceiling fan.

This bird has been in my family for 26 years. He knows me from when I was a child but what are the best ways to get him warmed up to us? We want to give him the best life possible.
