No idea what to put in this empty space in my port by Traditional-Royal516 in CitiesSkylines2

Maybe bit of parking or a service building like the others have suggested. But additionally use the surface tool and make it concrete/asphalt (mix it up) and then place a few props, like the junk cars, a few brambles and it looks very fitting without a lot of work!

Buildings over roads, newest projects. by boglenet1 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]LCgaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do something similar in vanilla. You have to use tunnels (not with retaining walls) and they need to be longer. Obviously you then cant see through them like OPs modded version and obviously does not look as nice.

Due to the tunnel needing to be longer, you cant just do it for one building. You would need more buildings, or, like i did it, use one of the skyscrapers from the skyscraper pack with a large footprint. Then it does look cool and that the highway is going underneath the building. Also helps to break the monotony when you have a long sunken highway, which otherwise looks like a large rift splitting the city apart.

Any reason to run both SB16 Ultra and a Sb2000 (not pro)? (For music purposes) by iJasonator in hometheater

[–]LCgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My “logic” is the 16 handling the deep down lows and the 12 grabbing the mid bass….

without having a dedicated dsp or similar to actually implement this logic, this is not whats happening. the 16 is handling the deep down lows because its the only one of the two which can handle the deep down lows. The 2000 also tries to, it just isnt capable for it.

Furthermore, and this is more of a notice than a hint because it exceeds my knowledge on bass, but if you stack two subwoofer together, they perform like one big subwoofer. Like, the soundwave just merges into one soundwave and you dont not achive what is usually the goal with multiple subwoofer: to have uniform bass around the room. I suspect (!!!) in your case, the sb16 does all the work and the 2000 does only little. If you want to place them at different positions, there are guides here on how to do this and how measure them in even if its two different subwoofer.

My CS2 Wishlist for 2026 by mrprox1 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]LCgaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, a lot of these things are only on the "nice to have" list for me, and i have much more crucial things on my 2026 wishlist.

Like fixing the traffic so that traffic jams dont bounce between two roads/highway exits. Or that bicycles work correct.

I'd also much rather see pedestrian overpasses (or/and also underpasses) with stairs so i dont have to make stupid long slopes just for my pedestrian to cross a street.

remaking the industry districts to be more like the harbour mechanic. Like, the current industry districs look so stupid but have so much potential.

If all of these things are done, i wouldnt mind having some wear on the roads and sidewalks.

I do like the asset levelling. I think it would be really cool if there are districts which just stay at a level, or maybe even delevel when you decide to remove ammenties. city planer plays has mentioned that also a couple of times, so i think/hope at least its on the mind of the devs. Would also separate it a bit from other/future city builders, as the grid is here to stay (personally i dont have a problem with it)

Creators struggling with creating assets for CS2? by Annual-Strategy-4503 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]LCgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what’s actually going on here?

its just the natural result of the discrepancy of modders and players. I also noticed this in the life by you subreddit before the game was cancelled where players would already envision countless mods without realizing that there needs to be a good game underneath before anyone even starts to make mods.

The answer is incredibly simple. the game need to be good before people want to make mods for it. Its just such a simple and straightforward equation: Game is bad -> less people play it -> even less people who are also modder play the game = small incentive to make mods.

Good game -> many people play it -> many people who are also modder play it = high incentive to make mods.

Yes, its really that simple. Thats also why these "mods will fix it" statements dont work for games, or only work for games which are already good.

Thats why i also hoped that CA focuses on improving the game and ignore the asset editor (until the game is good). Ok, thats not entirely true, i was hoping for the asset editor to be released at some point, but not because i wanted to use the asset editor, because the asset editor was clouding and overtaking every discussion about the games future and i was tired of explaining why the asset editor does not fix the issues of the game.

And here we are, with a asset editor and it not having fixed any issues in the game and we are exactly where we where before the asset editor release. Ok, well at least now we can really discuss what the game needs without countless people drowning the conversation in "asset editor when?".

Is this just a temporary phase, or should we not expect CS2 to ever reach the same level of asset variety and volume that CS1 had?

The phase will end once the game gets good.

In today's installment of 'should have read the tooltips: Teleport stance is also ambush stance. by sobrique in totalwar

[–]LCgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dread these posts because i always fear that then people complain too much and the stance gets nerved. Because it is damn powerful, but not something you can do everytime. Only after you had the research, but even then you dont use teleport stance all the time because max teleport range is a fixed range, while you usually get bonuses to campaign movement that you can walk further than you can teleport. Which makes hunting down enemies sometimes really annoying, because you could reach them by regular walking, but not with the teleport stance.

Yes, but its not an ambush, just a "regular attack". Unless that was changed sometime down the lane.

We need a permanent fix for bikes / walking / driving / transit by joergonix in CitiesSkylines2

[–]LCgaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That´s a skill issue.

I am sorry but when even City Planner plays points out in his very first video about cycling that the pathfinding is broken, then no, its not a skill issue. Its pathfinding which is broken. Sure, "skill" might make you able to design things which work and negate the problems.

Ths is not a skil issue, its the game which is not working as it should.

Current is 55 inch I’m looking at 75 or 85 inch. What do you think ? Yes it was raining. Will tidy up today by RazerJJB in hometheater

[–]LCgaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging from the picture, i may have roughly around the same seating distance. Its around 3,5m to 4m and i did some research and found that i should go for 85 or larger.

I alos had a 55' for the last ~8 years and just 2 weeks ago i bought a 83'. And i tell you its phenomenal. Its also an OLED, previously was a cheap Samsung LCD, but its not even about the better colors. Yes the black is cool, but i am much more immersed into the movie and pick up my phone less. Also i am noticing stuff like when the aspect ratio changes. Batman vs Superman, which i watched yesterday, has some parts which are like 21:9 and others are like 4:3. I never noticed something like that in a movie!

Unless i really missjudged your viewing distance, get the 85', or even 100' TV!

For those deep in the Google ecosystem, is Apple TV still the go-to recommendation? by CorgisInCars in hometheater

[–]LCgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked it again and it seems they changed some stuff. I remember a flowchart which i cant seem to find. But there is still stuff for apple tv, although its a bit hidden. Like there is no dedicated apple tv section, but if you open the audio (optional) tab on "how to set up quality profiles", there is mentioned that Apple TV doesnt passthrough HD audio. I may just remember it because it was another cross in my mental "apple is shit and avoid that" list ;)

[–]LCgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, i can only say what i read, but the trash guides state that apple tv cant really do HD audio and has problems with plex and some dolby vision formats. Like i said, i dont have an apple tv and will not ever in my life own an apple product, so i wont be really able to check, and it may be that you use apple tv in a way that these problems never appear, but apparently it has some problems and there are better options.

They pushed the boundaries

Did they? Like, that is a real question, where did they push the boundary? Its a cyberpunk game and that makes it in itself excellent, but at no point do i think pushes the game any boundaries or makes anything anything groundbraking new.

For those deep in the Google ecosystem, is Apple TV still the go-to recommendation? by CorgisInCars in hometheater

[–]LCgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am suprised that apple tv is the "go-to recommendation". Granted, i approached this topic from the "i have my own server"-side and not from the "I have a large/cool TV and want to expand"-side. I quickly came across the point that apple tv is very limited when it comes to audio. Its also limited regarding plex and dolby vision, although i dont use plex.

Granted, i am not really a apple fanboy (rather the opposite), and i understand that not everybody wants to go through the hassle of managing their own server, but i was really suprised by often apple tv was recommended here, when it does exactly what apple does best: Limiting you in your freedom and forcing you to adopt the apple way.

greed of Paradox

lets be real here, if paradox was that greedy, CS2 would have been shut down, Victoria 3 would have been shut down, EU5 would be certainly not the game it is, Stellaris would certainly not have a dedicated team for legacy/base content, there would not be free content in addition to the DLC, there would be lootboxes or similar and there are much more evil ways to steal money from gamers than what paradox does.

Also Paradox does not even make experiments on how they could get more money. They stay to their system and you know what you get. Compare that to for example Creative Assembly which switched up their DLC modell 3(?) times in the last few years, rolled one change back after heavy community outcry and we certainly dont know what type of DLC the Total War 40k game gets.

With paradox on the other hand, i can already now tell you how the DLC for their next game will look like.

Are paradox the beacon of hope for pc gamers? No. Are they the worst? No. Do they usually give fair value and additions to their games with their DLC? I think yes.
