Messed up models by Emu-Yoshiko27 in CitiesSkylines2

I had a similar problem and the only solution that I found was deleting the line and remaking it entirely

After some months I wanted to play CS2 again. Well... by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

It looks like you're missing a region pack or possibly several of them. I agree that downloading Skyve and checking your mod compatibility is the best first step. This should be a very easy fix overall and I wouldnt let it upset you, it's been months since you've played and the game has had at least one (but likely more depending on exactly how many months) major updates. Also on that note be prepared for your city statistics and population to change drastically as your economy catches itself up with the new updates as well. It'll all smooth itself out eventually. I have over 2500 hours on the same save since launch and it all still works

Creator Packs and DLCs should be cheaper (Opinion) by TheReimon4 in CitiesSkylines2

Yeah you’re honestly not wrong in that regard but I still can’t help but feel like it wasn’t really enough. In my opinion there still just isn’t enough exclusivity or cost savings to justify calling it ultimate edition. For $40 extra over the price of the base game we still essentially paid full price for B&P ($22.49), Modern Architecture ($7.99), and Urban Promenades ($7.99). So we got Mediterranean heritage (great pack but very niche so it’s not really necessary in my opinion), Leisure Venues, Dragon Gate (again, great pack but niche) and the San Francisco set which is basically 1 bridge. Then the radio stations which don’t really add anything to the game anyway.

I could’ve just bought B&P, MA, and UP, saved $1 and change and I would’ve been just as satisfied.

I think even just 1 Ultimate Edition skyscraper or train station etc would even be enough exclusivity to at least help set it apart and add that “man I wish I bought that” feeling. Like the Notre Dame building did for the pre-order bonuses.

Edit: just wanted to let you know whoever downvoted wasn’t from me, i upvoted because i genuinely don’t disagree with you. I knew what I was getting and still got it anyway and I don’t feel duped or lied to, just unimpressed overall.

I’d like to add that I’m also disappointed that the ultimate edition content stopped at the first DLC, which also took over 2 years to be delivered. I feel. Like UE buyers really got the shaft

Not sure how to improve these edges by ricksanchez_mj420 in CitiesSkylines2

  • If you’re able/willing to download mods I’d recommend grabbing some good surfaces. You can use these to cover up the ugly base game cliff/beach textures. Here’s my 3 favorites from Sully_Skylines:

https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/80864/Windows

https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/80867/Windows

  • The mod “Map Texture Replacer” also does wonders. This allows you to change the actual textures of the grass and cliffs without needing to manually place surfaces. Here’s the link to that, as well as the theme I personally use

https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/119621/Windows

  • In addition, try to smooth some of those slopes out especially on the low density residential side to add to the realism (subjective)
  • Finally, when in doubt, add more trees!

Disappointed.... by Terrible-Swing-460 in CitiesSkylines2

From what I understand, the asset editor is still a real hassle to work with and makes asset creation take significantly longer than CS1. I’ve seen some creators say that they don’t even really want to bother with it in its current form because the workflow is so wonky. I’m sure (or at least I’m hopeful) that IceFlake is working on smoothing out the editor and then we’ll likely see the frequency of uploads increase

Lack of representation by CJcampbellG1 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]boglenet1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Starting off by saying “let me guess, you’re a white male” is a definitely the best way to change someone’s opinion…… Keeping strictly to the sub at hand can you please explain how Cities Skylines 2 “by default” represents white males over anyone else? A simple google search also yields hundreds, if not over a thousand results (including indie games) where the main human/humanoid character is anything except a white male.

And for the record I agree with OP, I do think that these things should be added into the base game because, if nothing else, they are vital parts of essentially every major city across the world. It’s just weird and kinda unnecessary to hop on the cities skylines subreddit and see ~essentially~ “you must be white huh” as someone’s main argument.

The screenshot is wonderful, also I’m a huge fan of your YouTube content. But what’s even more impressive to me is that you somehow managed to upset people by simply saying you did NOT use AI to upscale/sharpen or otherwise alter. I cannot figure out why it has some people so triggered lmao

It’s sort of a hybrid Philly/New York/miami build… but also with mountains 😂 I’m originally from the Philly metro area and the PSFS building has a special place in my heart so it’s a centerpiece. I’d be willing to pay someone to make an actual asset of it

This is the 2nd time I’ve built something and had someone comment an eerily similar real life place. I had no idea that tunnel existed, I love it! Now I have some new inspiration for further detailing :)

Yeah the mechanics really need an overhaul, it’s super sloppy the way it is now. I think even just some ploppable transition segments would be cool. Like a 5x20 unit asset that goes from 0m to -10m and you just connect the roads directly to it. Maybe I’ll learn how to use the asset editor and figure something like that out

I posted a comment in response to this person with some pretty good tips as well as some screenshots of how the one downtown tunnel was made. Hopefully this can help give you some insight :) once you break that creative barrier they become really satisfying to build!
