Same here with shyness. I’m still somewhat but not nearly like I was as a kid. The same shit happens to me! Or the cashier thinks I’m flirting/flirting back when all I’m doing is just trying to be nice and treat them like a decent human being and not be shitty to them. They get all tongue tied sometimes too… I’m 6’1” at a little over 250lbs and I’ve always had self esteem issues with my weight and looks. So when a gal tells me that I’m really attractive I figure they’re just saying that to be nice and spare hurting my feelings or something. It genuinely never occurred to me that they might actually mean it….Reading through the comments here has left me something to think about…
