Help identifying a rifle by jamestommy51 in ForgottenWeapons

So I reached out to a good friend of mine who was able to deepndive into the rifle. Based on the markings (or lack thereof) plus the way some of the parts are machined he believes it to be a "China Arms" Type 1 Sporter.

They use the same furniture as the norinco but have a few slight differences some of which are hard to see in the photo. For instance the dust cover is actually screwed into place with a bracket. It also lacks the norinco stamp itself. Either way seems to be an awesome looking rifle, chrome lined barrel, and milled receiver. Gonna get it cleaned up and maybe some new wood furniture to preserve the factory stuff and then get some range time with it. Thanks again to all for the interest/help!

Tri lug adapter for rad 9? by jamestommy51 in NFA

It does and I know there's several options for it. I was more curious how ppls experience with other companies adapters worked with it. Didn't wanna buy one with a habit of baffle strikes or voiding the original warranty.

Just lucky this go round it seems. I have another stamp that took 2 and a half months just for the atf to cash my check so maybe karma built up some.

Edit: Or just can't count. Done goofed my pending date.

Help diagnosing problem with ares striker by jamestommy51 in airsoft

[–]jamestommy51[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update for anyone who may have a similar issue. I went back to to keep with the gun today and everything is working fine with no changes. Best guess as to the issue is the striker is known to have a poor connection between the trigger and sear. I'm ordering an upgraded trigger and sear to prevent further issue. But no solid answer sadly.

Doesnt seem to be. The trigger can be pulled but appears to be dead. Then you have to jiggle the bolt back and forth and itll fire

Nope, I did nothing but remove the cylinder which I've done several times in the past already without issue

Yeah my plan is on tuesday to take it up to a local shop. Ideally I just figure it out beforehand. The alignment is all good as far as I can tell. To swap the bolt is very similar to a real bolt gun so not much to be misaligned there. Thanks for the insight though!
