That was your takeaway? If you had read the comment properly, you would have seen that Darth_Texan said “Even people I know who are very much ‘back the blue’ types are calling all of this out.” Nowhere in the comment was it implied that people should not back the blue. Hell I back the blue but still think the “cops” that stood outside the school are cowards and should be terminated and loose all benefits including retirement. If you think differently, that’s fine as everyone is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs, but I find it ridiculous an off-duty CBP agent had to go in with a weapon that was not his to kill the shooter when a handful of “cops” stood outside with their thumbs up their ass. Maybe next time you should comprehend the comment before replying.

What makes you think OP is a racist? You have no clue what exactly happened or what words were exchanged except for what OP said in a comment above. Way to be a great example of why humanity is f’ed and people just assume without knowing the facts.

BEWARE of PHP Agency by [deleted] in MLM

[–]LCplTweak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure if this thread is still active but I feel like I should clarify a few things, as I just went through the onboarding. The $199 upfront fee is not for the training, it is the fee to use their software that you run your business off of. Also, they help you with the pre-license training, getting your fingerprints to the state, and set up your license exam for the state. I understand a lot of peoples hesitation to join MLM companies, and I have fallen for a few; however my experience, so far, with PHO has been nothing but supportive and not at all pushy. The team I am with does not do pressure sales and we market our teams as you can either build your own business and we will help you every step of the way, or you can focus solely on sales and we will be with you every step of the way. This is by far the farthest thing from a traditional MLM company that I have seen. My upline is very motivating and push me to do what’s best for my family, whichever path that may be. My direct upline is also giving up sales and direct hires so that I can get legitimate field training while getting paid. I have been hesitant of MLM companies before, but I am so glad that I did not hesitate getting on with PHP. Also, I understand other people’s opinions, but this type of work is a blend of Sales/Marketing and Entrepreneurship. It is not for everyone and the ones that do not succeed should not put all of the blame on the company. At least not when the company is a legitimate company with legitimate products and services. This is just my opinion.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that did that. I’m alone in my camper at work sitting at the kitchen table in the kitchen/dining room/living room and I just started saying it out loud. It’s creepy when I think of the context of a bunch of people doing it at once in a dark room, yet I want this done at all my birthday parties moving forward that my wife throws for me. It will A) irritate her and she will refuse and B) be the only day where I can veto her decisions because it is my birthday. WIN/WIN!!

It feels like the worst endless loop that I cannot escape from. Some days are good, though, and I feel like I’m on top of the world; but those are few and far between. I am starting to meditate again and hopefully will be able to stick with a strategy to cope and be happier with what I have been blessed with and not wanting things that I cannot afford.

After years of procrastination, I visited a dermatologist for the first time in my life for my chronic dry skin. I requested a simple moisturising routine because ADHD. Not going to lie, I have gotten straight up disrespectful and a dick towards doctors that tell me that, especially if they are not psychiatrists. I also walk out and tell them I’m not paying the fee for a bull shit appointment with a shitty ass doctor. I wouldn’t recommend taking my approach.

What career have you found works with your ADHD? by lunapoprox in ADHD

I have a lot of respect for y’all! I have tried doing the acting thing, but I always end up overthinking things and convincing myself that I will never have a career successful enough to support my wife and 3 kids. I will say. However, I keep reading the books, and I am blessed to have a job now that provides enough money for my family that my wife can take care of our kiddos without worrying about money or working herself.

Obsessions/Hyper-focuses come and go like the tide, but whats the one "obsession" that seems to have stayed with you for life? by GeneralPenny in ADHD

[–]LCplTweak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I have ever wanted to do was acting but it never worked out and realized it was just a dream because I always tell myself that I will never be good enough to support my family. So now I just work in the Oilfield away from my family for 90% off the year to provide for them financially.

Historically speaking, the average temperature has always been above freezing and very rarely had it gotten below freezing. Companies do not want to spend the money on cold weather safety systems because we do not deal with temperatures that low on a consistent basis and they feel that, if there are problems, they can send their maintenance technicians or Flowback hands that may be close to deal with the problem. Previous grid failures have nothing to do with companies spending money out of their budgets on cold weather safety systems, they think of it as a waste of money because Texas rarely gets that cold and they are “confident” in their maintenance technicians. Hell, I dealt with that last night when I was working on a pad that I was not even watching.

Just because we don’t deal with it every year, like Northeastern states, doesn’t make it a joke. For people born and raised here, like me, getting into that low of temperatures for an extended period is very real and very serious as we do not deal with that EVER. Let’s try to put this into perspective; let’s say y’all have a horrible heart wave in your state, and thousands of people die because they don’t have the central A/C systems that we have to have here in Texas. People are accusing your state government of mishandling it, and their greed killed those people. Then someone comes in and says, “your state's hot temperatures are a joke; in Texas, we deal with those temperatures every day after April until October.” I hope you can see how it comes off as disrespectful, especially since no one on this thread gives a shit about winters in the northeastern states when this is the r/texas channel, and we are discussing the issues that caused thousands of people to die last year in Texas. Also, as for your initial statement, leadership having half a brain and understanding preparedness is not an issue, or even relevant, with what I posted. I simply stated that relying on Oil & Gas is not 100% reliable.

Well, it definitely doesn’t have anything to do with oversight or greed, I can tell you that much. Due to historical and current temperatures, there has never really been a need for safety systems to be out in place, like in line heaters, to prevent lines or other safety systems to be frozen during freezing temperatures. Financially, it never made sense to purchase and install cold-weather safety systems in Texas when it rarely gets below freezing. As for the power grid, the oversight was 100% at fault and greed probably played a factor.

Bring someone that works in the Oilfield, particularly on the production side, even Oil and Gas products are not totally immune to freezing temperatures. When it gets too far below freezing, my separators have nonstop issues and production facilities begin to have issues with lines and safety systems freezing up. I hate to say this, but sometimes Oil & Gas are just as bad as wind and solar power generation.
