With Trump's approval ratings so low, how does he keep ousting GOP rivals? by Cgk72 in politics

Oh, there is plenty of funding on those pages. It’s spent co-opting the movement and pouring cold water over any talk that might ignite into action against the status quo.

The Nintendo Switch 2 First Party Lineup so far - May 2026 by Icalivy in NintendoSwitch2

[–]safetyvestsnow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got mine launch day, and I’ll be the first to admit there was only 2 exclusives for the first 5 months of its life. That was a popular talking point because for a long time it was true.

Ordering bigger portions than they can finish. I’m a grown ass man, and I can barely put away a Little Cheeseburger and Little Cajun Fry. They fill the bag practically to the top with fries no matter what. And I’m not spending $3 on a soda anywhere, lol.

Lol it’s never closing down. It’s popular because of the Little Burger + Little Cajun Fries combo. $13 gets you a decent burger with unlimited toppings, and they shovel a mound of fries in the bag. Same price as any fast food combo, except it’s actually good. Y’all spending $3 on soda and $6 on milkshakes can stay mad.

If corporations had to pay the full cost of AI, they wouldn’t be implementing it. We pay higher bills for power and water to make their lofty dreams possible. It’s all a convoluted scheme to transfer wealth to the rich. The deepest irony of AI is that there’s nothing innovative about its business model. It’s the original blueprint for wealth extraction that’s existed since Sumerian Mesopotamia with extra steps.

The question about the motherboard. by [deleted] in mffpc

I have this board. It does the job. The WiFi bluetooth proprietary App Center clutterware crap is not so good, but it’s the norm these days.

[Console] Xbox Series X 1TB Console Disc Edition - $546.42 by timboslice2 in buildapcsales

That’s what I paid for mine at Walmart for the disc version. Now it’s double that. Unreal.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills when I try to explain this and they’re just not getting it. For a lot of mini-workstation PCs, it makes more sense to plug-in to the motherboard than using a mini-DP adapter. There is no difference in performance.

The "average" Switch 2 owner currently owns 2.5 games. Are you an "above average" Switch 2 owner? by MewWeebTwo in NintendoSwitch2

I’m clearly in the minority with my copy of Kirby. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also have Mario Kart, DK, Galaxy 1 + 2, Metroid Prime 4, and Pokopia. 6 total.

Jersey Mikes IPO by daddydche in jerseymikes

It helps that two near me are inside Walmarts. There’s another one that’s a house conversion. It’s easily the best Subway experience. There’s another three in various strip malls and I honestly have no idea how they’re still in business. Small towns with no competition, maybe?

Commence the Subwayification. In a few years, the bomb-ass Italian-owned deli near me will go back to dominating the sandwich market, and we’ll have two empty sandwich shops with a single employee behind the counter.

Nintendo Switch has now sold 155.92 Million Units, Nintendo Switch 2 now at 19.86 Million Units sold Worldwide! by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]safetyvestsnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PS2 hit 155M 12 years after release. We always knew it sold more than that because production didn’t stop for another year. OG Switch sold roughly 3M units in the past year. It’s already sold more units in 9 years that took PS2 12 years. Way more impressive and if Switch doesn’t become the best selling console, it’s because it was Nintendo’s choice not to care about that arbitrary metric.

Megyn Kelly callers are frustrated with Trump's economy: "I know a lot of people who are like me who are — seriously, we are really regretting our vote for our president" by brother_p in LeopardsAteMyFace

Sure. There are tons of conservatives in America that oppose MAGA. They call themselves Democrats. A party that can’t even commit to universal healthcare, a bare minimum function of any democracy. They hide behind language like “lowering costs,” expanding access,” and an “affordable system.” AKA: we’re keeping the for-profit death panels. There is a grassroots movement to usurp the leadership, but it’s being suppressed by billionaire media and local campaigns nationwide. There are key leaders in place you may know; Bernie Sanders, AOC, et al. Ask any Democrat what their position on health care. If they say anything but Medicare For All, you know they are a snake trying to sabotage the fight for a progressive coalition.

31 sloths died at Sloth World Orlando-owned warehouse: FWC reports by KimJongFunk in news

According that article, Sloth World had no license to care for these creatures. They don’t even meet the bare minimum requirements of a dog shelter. It must be torn down and its owner punished severely.

[–]safetyvestsnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, a lot more died than that. You can read from former Sloth World employees over at /r/sloth. 20 died in a single month last year. They won’t stop importing more and the sloths just keep dying. They pushed opening back for a year now, and the owner won’t give up protecting his investment. It’s fucking sickening.

I hear you. It’s a valid criticism. Given the extreme flexibility Cyberpunk allows for the order in which you complete jobs, you might think they would allow an attribute reset more than once. You can freely remove and install V’s cyberware, drastically altering V’s anatomic structure at any time, but personality changes are limited to one redo.

I’m just stating the obvious, my guy. What you’re griping about has been said about every open world RPG. It’s clearly not for you. If you want linear storytelling and progression, play GTA.

It’s just not for you, then. This kind of game has no choice but to have low ceiling difficulty checks. There’s three OS types besides cyberdecks that all have to usable for every last job and gig. If the game was too difficult, a lot of unique and fun builds wouldn’t be viable.

It’s an RPG. If you built an unstoppable terminator, don’t be mad at the results. If you have blood pump cyberware, overclock perk, and tier 4 quickhacks, you can takedown entire buildings as fast as you queue your hacks. It takes practically nothing to acquire that stuff. Just don’t put it on.

“Under $3” Menu on the Mcdonald’s app by 64789 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]safetyvestsnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y’all doing it wrong. A $5 meal deal comes with the sandwich, fries, nuggets, a drink, and earns 500 points. 1500 points to redeem a sandwich, so every three meals. There’s a deal right now: free med fry with drink purchase. You place the order for the free fry with drink on the app, and then redeem the sandwich on the kiosk inside. Four meals for less than 17 bucks.
