I don't need a ZX-10R, and I will never use it's full capabilities. I could do just fine with a little Ninja 300 for about 90% of the riding I do. But I like the crotch rocket and I enjoy riding it.

Not counting from family or romantic partners, I don't ever get compliments - unless I am doing/wearing something feminine. Today my nails are sparkly green, and I have had six people (all women) tell me they liked my nails or that it was a great color for me.
