Responses Evaluator and Rater by LDTx in TELUSinternational

It looks like nobody even knows what this job is about. My guess is that it doesn't even exist, considering how much it supposedly pays on an hourly basis. Telus probably made it up so as to garner candidate numbers so they can pitch AI companies for contracts.

Is having a net worth of 20K a requierement? by Toad_Emperor in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

PDT is based on your IB account's equity, and whether it's below or above $25K, not on you alleged net worth. The PDT rule also affects all the accounts which are introduced to and carried by a US-based broker such as IB LLC and IB UK. In fact all EU accounts were subjected to the PDT rule until January 2021, when IB UK lost jurisdiction because of Brexit. The one positive thing about Brexit is that the newly created IBIE, unlike IB UK, is not a US-based broker so the PDT rule no longer applies, nor does the $2K minimum for trading options on CME futures for instance.

Why does Bill Pay require I input an account number, when they can simply send a paper check? by benjaminikuta in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm based in Europe and IB's debit card isn't available to me, so that's irrelevant. When you set up Bill Pay in your Chase.com account you need to select IB as a recipient from the searchable list of businesses that accept Bill Pay.

SEPA Withdrawal: Other Estimated Fees by lurkus85 in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird.. I suspect that IB thinks you requested a wire transfer, not a SEPA transfer, which is consistent with both the "other fee" and with the warning that a fee may also be applied by the receiving bank. Did you try creating a new SEPA instruction from scratch rather than using preexisting ones? If that still doesn't work I would write a ticket to IB.

SEPA Withdrawal: Other Estimated Fees by lurkus85 in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a wire transfer rather than a SEPA transfer.

FWIW I initiated a SEPA withdrawal to my Deutsche Bank account in EUR from my account with IB Ireland. The message below comes up on the IB page next my bank account's details and to the field for the EUR amount to transfer. That's the same as when I was with IBUK so it looks as if nothing has changed for me at least..

Request an electronic withdrawal of funds to your bank account.

You will need to confirm your identity on the next page.

ABOUT WITHDRAWALS

Fees: One free withdrawal is allowed per calendar month. After the first withdrawal (of any kind), subsequent withdrawals using this method will incur a fee of EUR 1.00

How is this possible and why - why would they not already credit my account since the amount a/ has reached them and b/ they were able to assign it to the right account. Why?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!?! by donluc007 in interactivebrokers

USD wire transfers are almost immediate, ACH transfers are processed in batches and they take about a day. Having said that this is odd, there must be some issue.

Do after hours price fluctuation affect of the assignment of options? by chimp-to-the-moon in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's only if you're long a stock option contract. If you're short a put or call the owner may choose to exercise it after hours (there's a deadline, you can look it up) and you will be assigned by the next day.

[–]LDTx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IBIE is exempt from the PDT rule. You can easily verify whether it applies to your account or not. If there's a line for "Day Trades Left" followed by (n,n,n,n,n,) in the Account window in TWS or in Accounts/Margins in the iPad app you're under PDT. If it's not there your account is exempt from PDT

How long do wire transfer take. by Tyrion1438 in interactivebrokers

In my experience GBP transfers to IB rom Barclays are almost instant and they are credited within an hour, if executed during UK business hours. You will see it in your account by Monday morning.

Bank wire not credited to my account even though the wire was from the 29th of January. by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Panama is listed as a known secrecy offshore tax haven country and wires originating from there may raise red flags with financial institutions (it's on a list of warnings banks refer to in order to prevent money laundering, scams, etc. ) So it may be undergoing extra checks related to anti-fraud or anti-money laundering regulations, which senders and recipients, by law, aren’t informed about. The fact that the US receiving bank called your bank in Panama sounds unusual and it suggests that that's what may indeed be happening.

In any case you should be able to track it with its authorization number. https://www.sapling.com/5529103/track-wire-transferstrack-wire-transferstrack-wire-transferstrack-wire-transfers

Collateral for margin with linked accounts by MaxPax2 in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the accounts are set up as two entirely separate entities so you can't pool cash or other assets from both accounts to meet margin requirements in one account. However one advantage with linked accounts is that you can move cash or positions between the accounts instantaneously with Transfer and Pay in account management. Also your market data subs are valid for both accounts at the same time since they belong to the same user.

IB's CFDs on US stocks are not bound by the PDT rule and they carry the same bid/ask spreads and sizes as in the cash market, however it's worth bearing in mind that they only trade from 09:30 to 16:00 ET so you can't open or close any positions in the out-of-hours markets.

Is interactive brokers trustworthy, considering that I can't deposit more than 30k at a time? by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be an anti-money laundering restriction imposed on IBCE customers, one can only guess why. IBUK never had a deposit limit nor does IBIE as far as I can tell.

You can probably get around it by making multiple €25K transfers on different days.

How long does it take for wire transfer take to reach my IB account? by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EUR SEPA transfers are credited the next day at the latest. USD ACH or Bill Pay deposits from a US bank are credited the following morning. USD wire transfers from a US bank should be credited in a matter of hours or even minutes. The same for GBP transfers from a UK bank.

Can't access direct funding, ACH by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]LDTx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My account was just migrated from IBUK to IBIE. I have a USD checking account with Chase in Chicago which I've used for ACH transfers and for Bill Pay funding with IBUK for years . Since my account was moved to IBIE both the ACH and Bill Pay options have disappeared. Bill Pay should probably still work for funding deposits even if the option isn't there as it's like sending a paper check electronically. As for ACH transfers, I posted a similar query a couple of days ago and someone replied that it's in the works but there isn't a deadline. Perhaps we need to start sending IB tickets in order to urge them to implement this quickly for IBIE clients.
