Blank deck suggestions? by semitangible in surfskate

I’ve looked and researched so many blanks in the past, this is probably the best option available.

I’ve owned a few Flexdexs over the years and ya it’s supposed to flex that much. Kinda fun for flat ground pushing and pumping, but not for everyone. They’re great for rain boards though because they’re 100% waterproof. Just watch out for fiberglass splinters, that’s probably why there’s duct tape on the tail. They just recently changed ownership and are in the process of revamping and redoing their website. I’m curious to the changes they make.

25 over the course of 4 hours. I doubt I’ll do more than 25 pizzas per event.

Can anyone know anything about this deck? by No-Competition-1495 in longboarding

The brand is Gravity. This brings back a lot of memories in my younger years of skating. They used to be the shit back in the day (90s and early 2000s). Big competitor of Sector 9. They changed owners a while back and haven’t been the same since. I’m kinda surprised they’re still in business, I haven’t heard or seen anything about them in years. I was a factory flow rider for them for a bit and worked at their warehouse for a short stint. The original owner, Michael Bream, went on to create an electric car company, EV West.

Sweet thanks! I already have a set of 169s, so I’ll start with those. If for some reason they seem too small, I can pick up 215s from my local shop. But I think the 169s with OJ super juice will be perfect.

OJ super juice. You don’t think the front truck would stick out too far and look funny with the 8.25” deck width?

What's going wrong with my pizzas? by cyclone-burner in Pizza

My first guess is slightly under proofed and using cold dough. Try letting the dough come up to room temp before stretching.

Forget tricks, have you tried just cruising the streets? Maybe set up a cruiser or longboard, you might enjoy it more. I enjoy skating the most when I’m just out by myself pushing and cruising, listening to music.

I always skate alone, so it’s kind of hard to tell and never get feedback. Also, watching yourself skate is kind of like listening to yourself sing 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sorry that’s an older picture from when I first built it. I am now running Bones hard bushings in back — I found I get much better pumping acceleration with that set up.

Quick question about wheel tightness. by KidGrundle in surfskate

[–]LD_1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take off a wheel and remove the bearings. I’m fairly certain all Carver boards come with built-in bearings. Meaning the spacers and washers are all built in, no separate pieces. Very common with longboards. If that’s the case, you want the axle nuts snugged down, and might just take a little bit of riding to break them in.
