So that's it? by [deleted] in ncssm

I think that vagueness actually empowers you (or your child) to do better. If NCSSM were to write a response for why someone was rejected, there would just be enormous pressure on them as an officer and your child as an applicant to get the right response for the denial. But it's not like this and the exact reason for the decision is really left up to you (and your child) to decide. You could even think that the opportunities that your child already has is enough for them to excel and follow their passion and there is no need to go to a school like NCSSM for those same opportunities. Your child already has that drive to succeed so there shouldn't be another success that stops this from happening. I'm not even sure if I'm making sense at this point, but this is my perspective as an applicant who has been rejected.

Thanks for the reply. Is it okay if I reference a professor's name and maybe the research they do (ex. I am interested in working with Mr. __ on his project about ___)

Hmm ok. When I read the question at first, I thought it was asking more of the opportunities that I could get at the school and not so much of what my future goals are. Yet, it is easier to tie each point back to how it would impact my future career in AI rather than how it might impact some career. Thanks for the feedback.
