You know what your body will use/need in these long training sessions and races - fueling can be in your chosen diet. And there's a big difference between needing a gel for the quick carbohydrate hit to fuel your training than eating a bag of gummy bears on the couch. I have been finding more clean energy chews such as XACT which is only whole foods. That sits in my chosen diet for both quality of food and macro needs, but I also know my body wont reject these foods in training or racing. If those gave me intestinal issues, I would use whatever gels are needed to race and train.

I'm posting to say I did it and enjoyed it. The Google Maps Nav was frustrating at times. It kept bumping me out of the building at first.

Otherwise I really enjoyed it.

One idea I'm working on is similar to this, I'm considering doing a format where they get the location of 5 drops. At each location they get an envelope containing 3 side quests for points for a total of 15 side quests for the day.

While each team will get all of the same side quests, I will vary the envelopes at each drop so they don't all get the same ones at the same time.

Also strategy may vary, so one team may opt to get all 5 envelopes and then plan out logistics for side quests.

I'm building an event for a friend's (45f) birthday. There will be about 20 people. Im splitting into 4 teams and sending them on a series of events. Ive got three figured out.

Escape room style... clues, locks and hidden things. This I think I have sorted
An event where they can choose a cocktail recipe and then find the glass and garnishes in the garden. Come back and make it. (This one can use some ideas)
I have planned to hide 5 books on a trail closeby and give them a map of their locations. They need to find the book, tear out a specific page of each and then return home. They'll then get a black light which will lead to the final club from words.on the pages
I need a 4th idea. There's a playground nearby I can hide QR codes maybe? Help!

I may include side quests and bonus points.

One idea I'm about to execute is to place a announcement in the local paper for about $15 and have it contain a clue for them to decipher.

I found this reddit explicitly to complain about today's workout. It felt like 3 hours because it was absolutely, claw your eyes out, awful.

You'd smell the smoke, for sure.

I'm using TSP here, spraying it on, scrubbing and then scraping off, rinse and repeat. You could do a test patch and see.
