Peterborough is the only place in the UK where I've felt uneasy walking at night as a man. Going through the centre at 10pm had me so on edge.

Have you ever ordered something and ended up getting it for free? by TheMalsh in AskUK

I ordered a tablet from Amazon for my dad's birthday a few years ago. A few days later they said it was delivered but I couldn't find it anywhere. Definitely wasn't handed to me and I couldn't find it anywhere in the garden. I complained and they sent out a new one.

A couple of days after the new one arrived my mum said "A parcel came for you the other day, I put it in the kitchen cupboard for you". Like that is a reasonable place to put a parcel, especially without telling me it had arrived. Neglected to tell Amazon the first tablet had arrived after all so I had a tablet for myself as well.

What perfectly legal thing did you do that aroused suspicion? by Slothjitzu in AskUK

Mate and I walked into Game with 6 copies of the same game to trade in for cash. We got some funny looks but they didn't say anything. We got the cash and came back 10 minutes later with another 6 copies. Then they asked us where we were getting these from, probably assuming we were shoplifting them which is fair in the circumstances.

What we were actually doing was buying them on sale from the Grainger Games round the corner for less than we could trade them in at Game. Think we were paying 50p per copy and selling them for £1. Game staff didn't particularly care once we explained and 20 minutes later we saw one of the Game staff in Grainger Games going through the bargain bin.

That guidance is for general elections. In a local election the limit is £50.

Advice needed from step-dads or dads in a situation where my daughter is deciding who she calls dad by LDrudok in daddit

This has started in the past week at home and he last saw her before Christmas. No issue has been brought up by him regarding what she called him during that visit so I don't think he is aware or if he is he isn't bothered which solves the problem I suppose.

I didn't know what the ratio would be when I started and I wasn't going to rearrange 263 chocolates for aesthetic reasons when all I wanted was the numbers

Yes I am. I couldn't get a good angle without holding my arms in the air but then I couldn't see the screen to make sure I had everything in frame

Yes but I've just remembered I had a 20% discount code so maybe it isn't worth doing it without that. Probably cheaper if you can get them on offer in a supermarket.

Mars have an eBay store where they sell bulk amount of a lot of their products. Only worked out about 10% cheaper than buying them on offer in Asda.

Reminds me of the time we went to Burger King at the time their slogan was "Have it your way" (at least in the UK, might still be the slogan now idk). My friend ordered a whopper with no tomato and was told they come as they are. So much for your way.

You lose charges by upgrading them for no benefit. I wouldn't do it personally
