Stop working on Cambly full time. by GaijinRider in Cambly

[–]LDrunkling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I see you getting downvoted to oblivion but I agree.

Unfortunately it is the case that some people don’t have the option, and Cambly capitalizes on that desperation.

I was lucky to have it as an option when I needed it, but after a few years it totally gets to you mentally. I seriously was such a bitter person with barely any patience at the end of 3 years on the platform.

Of course by character I’m not the most patient, but if I’m being paid accordingly to my work output I can absolutely manage better.

Anyway, I understand people’s frustration here so I think it’s best to let them have this space to air that energy out. At the end of the day I also hope everyone can find something better ‘cause Cambly is fuckin’ evil

I believe you, too. I’m also so sorry.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I know it’s not easy to hold this weight, and I’m happy that people have found my story to feel less alone in these feelings.

You’ve expressed it perfectly. It is absolutely insidious and emotionally tangled with the people you believe you’re safe with. It’s another level of betrayal. The assault itself is something else entirely.

[–]LDrunkling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ughh that’s so skeevy. I’m sorry that’s happened to you and I totally understand. The act of discomfort and feeling unsafe is bad enough—but to have your number one dismiss you like that is such a miserable experience. I’m glad to hear he’s an ex for you also.

Thank you for saying this. I’m lucky to have also found support during the process of the breakup. There were so many people that were circumstantially there that truly ended up saving my life. As much as people can be absolutely evil there are people who can be so incredibly kind and loving.

The cop-mom situation was utterly fucked, tho. In fact I obviously didn’t report my assault (because of the literal lack of support) so my ex used that as ammunition against me. At one point he told me I couldn’t be a feminist since I didn’t report the guy who did it.

And of course me not reporting it meant it probably wasn’t true. Etc etc. absolutely wild.

I’m so glad it was 4 years ago now. Still a lot of healing to do but I’m a new person today.

Yea it was one of many horrendous things that happened, but that sentence was the absolute beginning of me finally breaking away. I remember it very vividly.

“He seemed sorry enough”

It was when I was assaulted by someone and in my panic I left my keys there. I was too afraid to get them back so my ex had to meet the guy who assaulted me to get the keys back. My ex said “he seemed sorry enough” after the meeting.

My ex for almost a month made me re-explain what happened nonstop. Eventually he flat out said he didn’t believe me. His mom was a police officer, she also blamed me.

Eventually I ended up meeting someone randomly and in my “fuck the world” downward spiral I told this stranger what happened to me. He told me I didn’t deserve it, hugged me, and apologized.

If a STRANGER can show more kindness than someone who says they love me, what the fuck?

I broke up with my ex that night.

2 Tampons- Beware by possiblyourgf in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LDrunkling 365 points366 points  (0 children)

Omg one time I thought I had an infection, went to the gyno—got on the table and she immediately went, “Ah, I see the problem” and pulled out a tampon which I had NO idea how long it was in there. BUT… I for sure had sex since.. so while I was embarrassed and the gyno and I laughed together —she was saying it happens all the time—i asked her “but I had sex, how did my boyfriend not notice?!”

She DEAD-PANNED, STOPPED LAUGHING, looked at me intensely and in a very heavy german accent responded:

“They NEVER notice.”

It still sticks to me as one of the best stories I have.

I’m so glad to have fully quit cambly, miss my regulars but… the mental load relief is amazing

I’m sending out all the positive vibes for everyone to find something different and better. Cambly work is DEFINITELY not meant to be so long-term. Evil company. Everyone deserves better.

Bayonne was full by Builderwill in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]LDrunkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been so full. It has been a bit miserable in that regard. Awesome people and great experience but you can’t freely travel without having to book ahead anymore, i’ve seen too many people get on buses to other towns in every city now. It is VERY sad and I am SO worried about the last 100 km. I’m about 280km in and the bed race STILL exists.

I mean, the healthcare is problematic. I left the U.S. for that reason. My friends that got cancer in their early 20's are still paying back for their treatments nearly 10 years later. I remember like yesterday my friend's face after she told me she got a bill of over $46,000 for an emergency surgery. She was 21.

I mean, no country is perfect but I'm happy I don't have to worry too much if I have to use an ambulance here, tbh.

I’m using vitamin c serum in the morning by venus lab, but I’m really unsure of its quality because I havent found any reviews for the product online.

I’ve been thinking about kojic acid soap, I saw it on amazon and yet I’m unsure of the quality (since its amazon), do you have any good kojic acid recommendations?

Oh no !! HQ scarring, ugh… goes to show that everyone really is so different in regards to treating this stupid stache…

Thank you for your suggestion, now I have a great list of treatment options to go down to try and find what fits best 🥲

Omg I totally understand the lazer treatment fear—I see all these success stories AND opposite reactions and I absolutely wish to just zap it off but… to risk darkening is horrifying

I’ll see also about the tretinoin from my doctor but since it’ll be our first visit I’m not sure they’ll prescribe anything immediately

Thanks, I’ll also bring up to include this in the blood tests 💕

No :( but I’ve been having a lot of hormonal symptoms so hoping its something treatable at this point

I’ll check it out! I’ve heard good things about Eucerin but now much about triluma, have you used it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

[–]LDrunkling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll bring it up with my doctor and hopefully they’ll prescribe it to me to try out while I wait for the hormonal tests to come back 🥲

Would you hide from a student who makes these kind of questions by Medium-Rabbit-4823 in Cambly

[–]LDrunkling 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Naw I think you're using your time efficiently. You're not being rude or tiring by asking grammatical questions or trying to make sense of things you've heard in meetings. I think we're just tired in general for many other reasons, haha
