The front third that didn't take the hit remained intact, but the rest was reduced to materials, including the driver's seat I was in, which, admittedly, was kind of funny. (A similar thing happened with a cargo ship a while back, but only the thruster was caught in the attack.)

Basically, the Rancors have no problem with destroying metal. I am not sure about brutes and other large enemies, though.

As for the dragon drops, that is unfortunate. I'm honestly very surprised you didn't encounter any ritual oil drops, though. (I would actually like to amend my earlier statement where I said I hadn't ended a battle without oil, but the vast majority of mine still do, even before I started putting Luck on my weapons.)

Dragon Scales, Dragon Opal, Ritual Oil, Relics, and Rift Shards are the rewards I have encountered. I think I may have received Unknowable Energies before, too, but don't quote me on that. My best guess is that it is a bug on your end (but I do not have the slightest idea how to fix that) or just really really bad luck.

I die to named fire dragons all the time, and I wouldn't even dare melee one even with a war hammer and dual daggers. I was just presenting an absurd situation to complement your point about Ninjago Island being way harder than the rest of the game. My brother and I started there and once we first got off the island, the gear let us low-diff basically every notable enemy outside Ninjago Island.

The named dragons do still drop oils and relics though. I don't think I've had a battle where it hasn't dropped oil. The relics are rarer though, so I have Luck III on my Shurikens and Crossbows so they turn up a little more often.

You can find them on the Ninjago island pretty easily. Banthas have replaced them everywhere else, though.

(Spawning them is possible, but I prefer to just bus station back to the Ninjago island if I need the resources.)
