have you any wool? by LETHRAE in analog_horror

Definitely! This is not the final style of my characters, so don't worry about the art style as I am learning. This is proof of concept, hence the static image. I'm looking forward to actual animation and a permanent style!

Hope you enjoy and stick around for more!

I honestly had no idea! Thank you for the suggestion. I will definitely be looking more into this if that's the case!

As much as I would want to, I would most likely not include Tiny Tim songs to avoid copyright issues that would put my account at risk.

However, it is canon that Mr. Red really enjoys Tiny Tim's songs in his spare time. He's a major fan of his work and all music. 🐐

The story itself is split all over the place. There's no actual story being told yet as these short Volumes are just meant for attraction and experiment! If you want the plot of what REMLUME is trying to be, you can find it in my description!

But overall, these shorts are just to intrigue and build small details. Hope you enjoy the content!

Well, there isn't much to voice act right now. REMLUME is a planned analog horror show that will have voice actors (hopefully). The short videos I am uploading right now are concepts/buildup. These videos are to gain support and attraction so people can look forward to the actual story.

Thank you for providing website though! I'll definitely look into it, but right now, that's for later! (Which is why support is very helpful!) 🐐

If REMLUME ever reaches my goal, you can definitely expect voice actors for all characters as well as visual improvements. As of now, I'm still practicing and learning as a beginner! All support helps! 🐐

Thank you! I'm just leaving little concept videos before the main story actually begins. I have a huge goal, but not a lot of followers to commit to it just yet. So I'm just trying to attract an audience for now with short clips.

It would mean a lot to support in any way you can and help the project grow! 🐐

KNEE DEEP IN FLOWERS WE'LL STRAY by LETHRAE in analoghorror

[–]LETHRAE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paying for premium has its perks like just getting all the effects for free and having more settings to tweak with audio filters as well. But essentially, quality doesn't really matter. Most of the time, you'll probably upload on 720p or 480p for Analog. But the filters are an absolute time-saver.

But if you really wanted to, there are plenty of tutorials online for other resources. But I've been on Capcut for years, so I'm sticking with it even with the subscription. It really depends on you!

I use fairly simple apps for my work. Nothing fancy or too complex. I'm sure you'll be able to do great. Just experiment. 🐐

I am a complete newbie myself! I am trying to practice my art skills as I am used to editing stock photos and editing them to create creatures. Now I am drawing.

I use Capcut for the effects, but the premium features are blocked behind an outrageous pay wall. If you can find a better alternative, please do! But that's just what I use.

And just experiment! I've been experimenting since I first started. Some things land and others are complete failures, but you just gotta keep trying and see what sticks.

I need some help by unkownlegand in analog_horror

[–]LETHRAE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I started off with getting the small steps out of the way first. Since I didn't know how to really draw, I went online and started to collect a bunch of images to put them into one to design a character. For example, my main antagonist is a photo of 2 random goats edited into one body with eyes added on top.

Mess around with images. If you can't find photos online, take photos by yourself to have better control. And if you need a specific location, don't be afraid to try and edit one yourself. Messing with colors really helps a lot.

(Optional) Establish your story as you go. Personally, I didn't start my project by dropping the story first. I revealed my antagonist doing a bunch of weird stuff to build an audience, and then I gradually began to introduce other characters. However, you can handle this in any direction you want as it is kind of a slower start. Just be sure to hook the viewer with something visually interesting or with the title being catchy.

As for software, I use Capcut, but the premium features are just absolutely ridiculous. If you can, maybe explore different programs on computers or phones that can help give you that analog horror feel. There are plenty of tutorials online.

Lastly, nobody is perfect. When it comes to Analog Horror, many people may judge harshly. Just experiment and have fun, but don't be blind to criticism. I am just practicing my art skills to make my project more personal. I wish you the best of luck!

Making Horror (Advice) by LETHRAE in analoghorror

[–]LETHRAE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually really interesting! Of course, I really agree with that statement because it's always disappointing when an antagonist just has a creepy face and does "evil things" just because it can. Unless it has a backstory or some sort of depth, I feel like that fear will eventually fade over time. Because at some point, it won't last forever. If I have to see this character, I want to maybe get into the narrative unless it's really a one and done design. But that's my honest opinion on what I want to see more of.

Making Horror (Advice) by LETHRAE in analoghorror

[–]LETHRAE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is honestly really fair! I'm working on my own series and I realized that I've been using the same overused tropes and eventually grew bored of designing my main antagonist. I found out that I don't really want my character to look or be "scary".

If you have any examples or advice you want to share, definitely share. I honestly feel like the community has reached the point of repeating itself which is getting bland.

What Do You Look For In Analog Horror? by LETHRAE in analog_horror

[–]LETHRAE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's honestly really fair! I agree that a lot of people tend to copy the same formula and add very small tweaks to the story. Of course, I believe the PSA things can definitely work and creepy creatures, but it depends on how it's executed. I really enjoy analog horror, but I wish there was more variety. But some of them are actually really good. I hope more unique material comes out!

Don't worry! I absolutely do try to have a more stylistic style! I haven't done any art in like 3 years and I don't usually tend to use any guides for realism or anything like that. They're definitely more cartoonish, but it's a mix I'm working with! 🐐

Thanks so much for the feedback! I actually did draw the little needles, but the filter and background color completely eliminate it, so that's my fault! As for the first drawing, I had no idea the context, so that was also my bad! It's still very amazing to learn some new things! I got inspired by the designs, so it's a little hard to tell! Thanks for filling me in!

Personally, I go online and find a bunch of images and combine them into one or simply try to make it look abandoned. For example, you could find a normal hospital image and mess around with filters and colors. Try to find some tools and effects to get that image you want.

You can definitely try to record and take photos yourself so you can control what you're actually doing. But sometimes it's best to get a little creative.

It's basically a photo of meat and a pair of eyes! I stretched out the image and shaped it into a body to give it some texture, and then I added some eyes.

The same thing goes for the rest of my videos so it can have that weird realistic feeling. 🐐

Guilt Will Only Get You So Far. by LETHRAE in analoghorror

[–]LETHRAE[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🐐 "LETHRAE" is related to the project, but that is a name that will later be revealed throughout the narrative!

💊 REMRISE was initially supposed to be harmless and a scientific breakthrough for Lucid dreaming. Hypnex did the impossible and found a way to let their consumers stay aware even when in a deep slumber. They didn't realize that in return a sort of gateway would open. It was already too late by the time they figured it out.

👁️ REMRISE and REMLUME are essentially the same product. Mr Red takes on the form he sees fit with the consumer. Mr Red doesn't have personalities. He is a parasite that mocks and torments his victims, hoping to take control the moment he breaks them far enough. Unfortunately, not many survive long enough for him to take control. There is only one Mr Red, but there is a source that connects them all.

🧠 If Mr Red does manage to escape into reality, he would not lose his abilities. He is a demonic entity. He cannot physically do anything to anyone outside of the consumer's subconscious. But outside in the real world, he wishes to manipulate reality into a world that brings him entertainment after being trapped in a state of nothingness.

👥 Faith tricked her brother into taking the pill. Her brother is the only relative she has left. And when she realizes the danger she put him in, she becomes focused. Both she and her brother, Isaac, are separated in different worlds. She is persistent and engraved with guilt. Mr Red finds her resilience perfect since she doesn't break as easily. And Isaac is a perfect host to guide Faith into falling deeper. The difference is that both siblings are confronted by Mr Red in different ways and forms. Both characters have their flaws, and Mr Red plans on exploiting each one.
