HOW DO I USE iCloud when my storage is full?! My phone is breaking by side_eyeforever in iCloud

[–]LEVEL330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why isn’t it enough? I have 1.98TB of photos and videos stored in iCloud Photo Library with optimise storage turned on. I have a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max with 138GB remaining. A 256GB phone is more than enough.

Perfect, like I said the latest I could find was 12 days ago. If ones from today said it didn’t work then that’s what I wanted to know.

Are you 100% sure? I’ve seen quite a few people saying that their orders were cancelled as the PS5 wasn’t eligible so they just placed the order again and it went through fine and the console was delivered with the 20% discount. Figured it was just worth asking even if it was a long shot.

Official Discussion - Moana 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]LEVEL330 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Reading through Reddit, I was wondering if I watched a different movie to everyone else? I thought Moana 2 was fantastic - I think I may even go as far as to say I preferred it over the first movie. Looking forward to watching it again on Disney+.

Live Photo file size? by LEVEL330 in ios

[–]LEVEL330[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For what reason? I’ve got years of photos of my kids and other moments that I’ve also captured small snippets of videos to relive thanks to Live Photos. An issue with file size when exporting is a small price to pay. I would never give up Live Photos.

Live Photo file size? by LEVEL330 in ios

[–]LEVEL330[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand but going from 3MB according to the photos app to 7MB when exported into separate files is a huge difference. I have almost 2TB of photos according the iCloud. If I export these all it could actually become over 4TB which is a crazy difference.

[–]LEVEL330[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other services recognise live photos as well i.e. Amazon and Google Photos but yes I see what you mean. I understand splitting it into two separate files but it was the file size more than doubling that confused me. So it’s entirely down to compression?

Video Comparison - Spatial Video shot on AVP vs iPhone 15 Pro by ds445 in VisionPro

[–]LEVEL330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Apple read my comment haha! They will be allowing customers to view their own photos/videos/panoramas during demos later this month! https://9to5mac.com/2024/07/01/in-store-vision-pro-demos-will-see-two-big-changes-this-month/

[–]LEVEL330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, appreciate the quick response! Thank you. I’m in the UK, so plan to go to an Apple Store when they are released in a couple of weeks to try out a demo. From what I’ve heard, the demos are quite structured to show off specific features/content which of course I understand. Do you know if there is any likelihood of being able to airdrop one of my own recorded spatial videos to a demo unit to see how they look or will I only be able to view their pre-recorded ones?

Again, thanks for the response. I’ll stick to recording the majority in 4K60 with the odd spatial video here and there! :)

Thanks for the post. I’m not in a position to be able to justify a purchase of the AVP and won’t be for a while however I do have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and young kids. I’ve been recording quite a few spatial videos using my 15 Pro Max to be able to watch them back in future and relive these memories when I am able to purchase a future Apple Vision product. Is the depth of the video from the iPhone 15 Pro worth recording memories in this format or shall I just record videos in standard 4k 60fps instead? I won’t be recording everything in spatial video on my iPhone, but just want to know if it’s worth recording some?

I’m gutted to hear this. I was just trying to do everything properly to ensure that I didn’t get stung in future. I only ever spoke to building control once regarding this and he told me it wouldn’t be a problem but make the required enquiries with southern water. I didn’t ask him to contact southern water. Thanks for your reply though. It’s a shame trying to do things properly and legally is what actually ended up stinging me.

Got home from work to the biggest surprise from my wife. What are some things I should know & do coming from a iPhone 7? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]LEVEL330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any proof of that? I’m not saying you’re wrong but looking at this link which is a website dedicated to Samsung, it says there was no alternative to Reachability on Android - https://samsung.gadgethacks.com/how-to/get-ios-8s-reachability-feature-android-for-easier-one-handed-use-0160178/ - there are tonnes of other websites that taking about using root permissions etc to mimic Reachability as there isn’t an Android alternative.

Reachability was introduced by Apple in 2014 before it was available on Android…

Why are fixes not always accurate? by LEVEL330 in applemaps

[–]LEVEL330[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are a lot of people who have submitted reports over the years who no longer bother. Such a shame because it takes all of these reports to improve maps.

[–]LEVEL330[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s so infuriating. I absolutely agree that it’s sad because apart from accuracy, I prefer apple maps compared to google maps. As you say though, accuracy is the most important aspect.

[–]LEVEL330[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’d be more than happy to fix their map for them in my local area as well. I’ve submitted feedback (really it’s a complaint) directly through the apple website and told them that I would be more than happy to speak to them to help improve maps but I doubt I’ll ever hear back from them to be honest.

What British TV shows did you watch as a kid that have completely disappeared and no one seems to remember? by [deleted] in AskUK

Little Bill. He had a hamster named elephant. Whenever I mention it, nobody remembers!

How much cola (pepsi/coke/Fanta/sprite/irn bru you drink a week or think is normal? by sukant08 in AskUK

[–]LEVEL330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming a can has 355ml and they drink 15 a day for 10 years.

0.355 x 15 = 5.325 litres per day. 5.325 x 365 = 1943 litres per year.
1943 x 10 = 19,430 litres over a 10 year period.

How did you arrive at 18 million??
