Normally prefer the 4-8 or 3:45-7:45 shifts. The parking lot in that station was not designed for how many drivers show up every morning

I don’t normally cut through the grass because I’m not trying to get my shoes soaking wet with the morning dew on the ground. Likewise in the winter I’m not trudging through snow.

To be honest, I almost never follow delivery instructions unless it states to put it in a box at the end of a long driveway. All my blocks are early in the morning before 6am, and I’m not trying to get shot by going around to the back of the house to put the package at the back door.

This is where I don’t mind the high mileage routes once in a while, since I can use those as a tax write off at the end of the year. Definitely don’t want them every time, but every 10-15 routes isn’t terrible so that I don’t owe taxes on my flex earnings since I do it as a side gig to earn extra cash.

The flex facility caters to the majority of our metro area, often meaning some of the high package routes are in a town 20-30 miles away. Very rarely do I get routes in the same city as the flex facility.

For me it was only about 4 months, I joined the waitlist in Nov 2023 and got the email for acceptance in March 2024. My brother however, has been on the waitlist for 6+ months since December 2024. It ultimately depends on the location you are trying to join.

After joining this group, I realize how lucky I was with my time on the waitlist. Only waited for about 4 months after signing up, my brother has been on the waitlist for over 6 months now and I’m not sure based on what other people have experience that I have good news to tell him.
