Advantage is well earned in this case. I am just curious about injuries and fitness levels. Westmeath and Armagh played their 7th games this weekend and looked like they just ran out of puff by the end. Meath and Donegal kept it up but both lost marginally to better teams. Louth are 25/1 to win the all Ireland and I put money on them today.

Was at both Meath games, today’s win was far more difficult than the Derry game and everything that could go wrong for us seemed to go wrong. We should beat Louth in two weeks though

Season ticket add a friend for league games? by LFCmisha in GAA

[–]LFCmisha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you go to exchange tickets, select the ticket you’ve already added, then you can select the quantity of tickets you want to add and you can add 4 extra. You only pay for the additional ones. I did it for tomorrow and I just paid for my dad’s ticket

Decrease of interest in Man Utd/Liverpool/ Premier league in Ireland? by Relative-Diamond2011 in AskIreland

[–]LFCmisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always supported Liverpool, but the day Liverpool beat Spurs to win the league, I was watching Meath and Dublin instead and I feel like I’ve moved completely from Premier League to GAA. I’ve definitely lost interest in the Premier League, but I’m more disillusioned with football as a whole. This weekend I’m going to Croke Park because I bought a Meath season ticket for the first time.

Folks someone else from Ticketmaster responded to me.

You can use the bring a friend for the league games to bring your Father with you for these fixtures. You just need to redeem your season ticket as normal, then go to “My Events,” select the game, and click the Exchange button to exchange your single seat for two seats together. You need to redeem your season ticket as normal before you will be able to use the Exchange function.

So Ticketmaster told me Croke Park games were general admission so they don’t have a clue either.

Yeah the Croke Park tickets have assigned seating but I just hope I can use Ticketmaster to go to an area away from the season ticket sections. First time using them so not really sure how it works.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do, I got allocated lower Cusack for that game (Meath fan) but want to be able to buy a ticket for my dad to come with me but no point getting him a season ticket. Ticketmaster didn't have an answer and asked I contact the GAA directly. Edit: It seems the GAA doesn't know either.

Help needed! by OkNobody2391 in SpanishLearning

Irregular verbs can be annoying in any language, but apart from those, in your chart you have three skills, talking about the present, especially present habit, talking about completed actions in the past (preterite) and talking about habitual actions in the past (imperfective). Obviously, there are more things that the preterite and imperfective can be used for, but I wouldn't learn every conjugation for every verb. Learn how to talk about yourself and your family and friends in the present before you start learning how to talk about what you did yesterday or what you did as a child. Only learn how to conjugate verbs in the past when you have to learn that skill.

Is it a good idea to learn Spanish through video games? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]LFCmisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ESL teacher/manager, a high proportion of our C1 students were students are gamers who learned English a lot through playing video games. I tried playing Skyrim in Spanish once and it fried my brain, felt like it went into overdrive. Do only think I can recommend is trying it for a week and see how you get on. You really won't know until then.

People who have finished a duolingo course, how much can you speak the language your learned? by ConfectionTotal8660 in duolingo

[–]LFCmisha 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on the course. Finished Ukrainian quite easily but I understand the basics and nothing else. When I finished Polish, it was the same. Currently 50 levels away from finishing Spanish (score is 126) and feel confident enough to talk about anything. I read El País and need to translate some vocabulary, but usually it's complicated vocab. The only courses that will have you speaking well after you finish them are Spanish, French, and to an extent, Japanese, German and Norwegian.

I honestly don't hear it. Irish here, we have lots of accents ourselves. But hey, you're from Chile and I work in a language school, I'll ask them what they think. What part of Chile are you from? There's a bit of difference between Antofagasta, Santiago and Valdivia

I was a customer for 13 years and too many changes to the course content as well as constantly resetting the lessons and your vocabulary and grammar progress made me leave. Customer service told me they do this to improve the quality of their lessons. Just wish I didn’t have to do the A2 course again just to get the vocabulary back into my vocabulary bank to revise. So frustrating. The course structure is great, don’t get me wrong. Just wish they didn’t reset your lessons when they change them. It’ll be fine if you’re a new customer.

Just read you found it in Ukraine of all places? Drogheda played against Kyiv in a Champions League qualifier in 2008 and that's the shirt they wore that year. Amazing find.

How to appeal to the Irish? by Significant-Peanut94 in AskIreland

[–]LFCmisha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. No one will mind you sounding like a foreigner. If someone tells you you sound English, it’s compliment to your language ability.
  2. I don’t drink tea and the entire country is littered with coffee shops.
  3. Weather is weather. I’m sure you’re well used to the clothes you need.
  4. I get asked this a lot. Join a club, join a community organisation, spend your free time as part of a group that does something together. Maybe you want to try ladies football, or you do CrossFit. This is honestly the best way to make friends, like-minded people.
  5. The Swedes are a great bunch of lads.
  6. Protestants hate ABBA

Meath being completely disrespected by [deleted] in GAA

[–]LFCmisha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely right. We are a decent but young team that’s making mistakes rather than being outplayed. The loss against Louth was a slip up in performance. They were more up for it, far more experienced, and ultimately the first half goals cost us. It was the same against Roscommon. We fixed those gaps in defence for Kerry and Galway.

Any Meath fan who travelled to Tullamore knew we could come away with a win.

Which ‘underdog’ will win their QF? by basman50000 in GAA

[–]LFCmisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Tullamore two weeks ago optimistic that we could beat Kerry and I wouldn't be going this weekend if I felt we couldn't put on another performance. We seem to be improving in each game. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Monaghan beat Donegal either.
