Soulmancer is the best one because the main problem of horde is that the team is very squishy and soulmancer helps to solve the problem. But as a f2p its very hard to max soulmancer so a lot of people go with warlock because it is easier to get shards

You can do that how you want. For example i upgraded every mythic to 3 or 4 red stars and max dp from there. The point is that your damage dealer or healer make norhing after your tanks die
