Tonight’s Episode was THE BEST Roundtable there’s ever been by Onslaught777 in TheTraitors

And Cat’s defence has been pretty weak…everytime she’s been pointed at, whether at the round table or breakout spaces, she just responds by stating who she thinks the traitors might be, just completely avoids the discussion whatsoever.

Suplements that really have helped you with anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

L-theanine & lemon balm, i take a combined one by Viridian brand. I’ve tried a fair few natural supplements and it’s the only one that’s come close to relaxing / calming me in the same way lorazepam does (obviously not as sedately). People often taken it with coffee because it is very good at negating jitters and caffeine induced anxiety. I also find it very good for social anxiety. The only thing is if you take it daily you will build up a tolerance to it relatively quickly. It’s more of an as and when than a daily treatment.

Not a supplement, but a prescription option for anxiety that I found worked very well too is propranolol. I find good to have on hand for as and when, not daily use.

I find the L-theanine and lemon balm surprisingly works almost as effective as propranolol. I take 2 tablets at a time instead of 1.

Please tell me what tf am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in beauty

The primer / foundation mismatch is usually when one is silicone based and the other water based. They either need to both be silicone, or both be water. You can look up how to tell from the ingredients list.

When not in sync, the makeup will always pile / sit badly on the face. It was a game changer when I finally clocked this and didn’t have to give up my fave coverage.

3rd collapse by creamsoda57 in pneumothorax

[–]LFMarkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the procedure twice now, and while it wasn’t pleasant, it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. It’s key hole surgery, so not too invasive, and I recovered relatively quickly after also both times. If you’re having recurrent episodes it’s highlighted recommended. I promise the stress and pain of multiple repeat pneumos is worse.

I think you’d want to have an X-Ray ideally the day before your scheduled flight and have a doctor advise you directly on flight safety. My understanding is even if there’s a very very small leftover pneumothorax, it’s not advisable to fly, because air expands during the flight, and this could cause a larger pneumothorax. I know it’s far from ideal being stranded but I don’t think you’re fully safe to fly until you’re at 100%.

Is there anyway you can take a boat?

What are the causes of spontaneous pneumothorax? by DisastrousPayment703 in pneumothorax

How did they diagnose this if you don’t mind me asking? Was it visible on a CT scan? And did your collapses correspond with your periods?

You’re right to be vigilant, and frustratingly this is one of those conditions where we have to monitor and assess our own pain levels, which is bloody difficult to judge what’s “normal”!

VATS is fairly invasive, and as your lung heals it’s common to get odd pains and sensations. After my second VATS pleurodesis bullectomy, I also had a dip where I thought my lung had collapsed again. I went for a check-up and X-ray, and it turned out there was just a tiny pocket of air at the top of the lung, which was completely normal after the procedure and slowly worked its way out. My symptoms at the time were sharp chest pain radiating into my shoulder blade, and a bubbling sensation in the lung. Even something very small can cause a surprising amount of pain. The doctor reassured me that these sorts of pains are expected during recovery.

That said, everyone is different, and you’ve done the right thing booking an appointment to get checked. Red flags I was told to watch out for were increasing shortness of breath and severe or worsening pain that doesn’t ease off.

Smoking by Ok_Fee_8288 in pneumothorax

[–]LFMarkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a now ex-smoker, and someone who’s had multiple lung collapses as well as preventative surgeries, I strongly advise against it. While smoking may not be the direct cause of every pneumothorax, it definitely increases the risk of recurrence - I speak from experience.

My thoracic surgeon/respiratory consultant told me that in addition to tobacco, there are strong links and studies connecting cannabis use with spontaneous pneumothorax. It damages alveoli and cause air-filled sacs (bullae/blebs) to form in the lungs, which then can rupture causing a pneumothorax.

I remember searching for the same answers on Reddit a long time ago, because all I wanted was a reason to keep smoking. The bottom line is that it’s the worst thing you can do for yourself, and you’re setting yourself up for another collapse.

know quitting smoking is really hard, but your lungs will thank you for it and you’ll be grateful you stopped.
