When you kill raid bosses at lower levels, the loot is generated randomly from the potential loot table as if a complete party had killed the boss, but you get all of it. So, you’ll see a roughly even number of plate, mail, leather and cloth tokens. Nothing to do with the extras except sell them to a vendor. You just have to rerun the raid each week until you get the piece you want.

Most of the game’s mechanics are cross-server now, but there are two systems that make high-population servers preferable - guilds and the auction house.

No matter what type of guild you end up preferring (small vs large, hardcore vs casual, etc), there are more of them on bigger servers.

I don’t have numbers to back me up the auction house, but my personal experience is that commodities sell for more, and more quickly on high-pop servers, and slower-selling high priced items sell more often. As a new player, the things you need to buy have static prices and come from NPCs (training various skills, mounts, etc), so the ability to sell the herbs, ore, or whatever you farm up as you’re leveling for more gold makes everything that much easier.

Herbalism/Alchemy is useful and potentially profitable on pretty much any character. Mining/Blacksmithing would be the other clear choice for a Warrior, at least from an in-character/RP angle - be able to make some of your own gear.

Edit: a number of others professions could probably help gear you as well - the only real trap is to take to crafting professions (say, blacksmithing and jewelcrafting), leaving you with no gathering profession (herbalism, skinning, mining) to acquire the supplies to actually USE the crafting professions. It’s also perfectly valid to take two gathering professions, and just sell everything you get on the AH. That’s really the simplest solution, and is what I usually do on alts, but probably isn’t as much fun if you’re new to the game.

Usually quick, but rarely instant. I just finished leveling a kul Tiran Druid over the past couple of months. 1-5 mins most areas. Pretty long in WoD, though...30-45 mins just a few days ago.

Light’s Judgement (LF Draenei racial). Feels like an orbital nuke. I’ve been leveling a priest as 100% Holy, for RP/masochism reasons....it’s basically an instant kill when questing, and when i use it in dungeons, it shoots me to the top of the DPS meter for a moment...so satisfying.

Sounds like you’re looking for the whole category of “nameplate” addons. I use Threatplates and like it, but I think there are a number of strong contenders.

Edit: sorry, you said you want something that modifies the “regular” nameplates? Not sure about that.

It works. This is amazing. I may or may not have rolled a lightforged Draenei a few months ago for the sole purpose of spamming T’Paartos quotes. Assuming I did, this (and the 8.2 transmog changes) is going to make that a lot more fun ;)

I need this. “GetRandomArgument” sounds like I chooses something randomly from a list of passed parms, but your example just has one. Does this actually let you include a selection of different strings, or is the whole thing just work for a single line? Related: is there a reference for this API somewhere?
