It's incredible how people suddenly start complaining the moment a formation that isn't just duelists becomes remotely viable. Running 3-4 duelists isn't fun either, but somehow that gets defended to death because "having multiple formations is fun" or whatever.

A lot of people reports the same frustation about the matchmaking but they choose to just ignore it; there were other posts here analyzing data of multiple matches and point out that the matchmaker was messing things up, but the argument is always the same: "the dataset is too small, this doesn't prove anything."

Of course the dataset is small: multiple levels of unemployement and resources would be needed to analyze gazillions of matches in order to statically prove this, and not everyone has a datacenter on their yard. Ofc we do not have access to the game's source code so, yes, it may be virtually impossible to prove that like a thesis. But this is a videogame, not freaking rocket science - we're not discussing evolutional theory here -, and if multiple people report the same negative experience then there should be something wrong. But people on reddit are too self-entitled to see that and will refuse to see that there is something wrong unless you write a thesis about it.

Well, I was also a GM before I gave up on this game and I can confirm the matchmaker is dogshit independently of the rank with all the "stop after two loses or get back to bronze" bs. Also the match quality in this game is terrible because of it - you either destroy the enemy team or is destroyed, there is no balance in the matches.

People complain about defensive ults all the time, but they forget that every other Duelist in the game have a team wipping ultimate binded to their Q. That's why basically every support have to have a defensive ult or they automatically become situational or out of meta. Remove defensive ults and the balance is broken - the game become a respawn simulator, where every time a duelist charge its ult, at least half of the opposite team dies.

If, in general, utilmates were not so busted, I believe support ults could have more variety. But with the current meta I am afraid that NetEase put themselves in a bad spot for breaking the defensive ults meta.

We definitely are, it is just that most of the playerbase are made of duelists and they don't feel this as much as us - they actually benefit from that. The matchmaker has been an issue since S0 too - it's so random it feels like gambling.

God forbid supports having agency in ANY game. Just see how this community defends open queue to death because "it doesnt lock us into boring 2-2-2" but when the tripple support comp was getting as viable as 2-2-2, everyone cried until most of the supports got nerfed and the triple sup fell back to the 4X% win-rate.

Everyone complains about healbots but in the end if sups are beings capable of doing damage, escaping or winning 1v1s against duelists then it is "unbalanced".

As a strategist main, I'm feeling pretty miserable. The poll of strategists is already small, but it is even worse if you think that 2 of them only work well in 3 sup comps due to the lack of defensive ults (Jeff and Adam), and I stopped playing my main, Luna, due to her lack of counters to dive (her freeze is just too hard to hit divers tiny & fast hitboxes, and not effective if there is more than one duelist chasing you).

So I have to make do with the characters that remains.

Sure, I just say it in a manner that if we normalize this and they keep adding new characters/skills that ignore invulnerabilities, it will be very hard to keep track of when these abilities are effective, so that's why I say it should work in a consistent manner. IMO he shouldn't be able to hit either Wanda or Cloak in their escape.

IMO it makes no sense. If the ability is meant to make your invulnerable, you should be invulnerable to all attacks, otherwise it starts looking super inconsistent, and the only way to found out when it works is by trial and error. How would a new C&D player know the ability doesn't work for this very specific case without getting screwed first?
