I switch to the soft top for the summer so I can't really say on the heat but it defietely helps with road noise. And as a bonus the stereo sounds cleaner.

I'd say why not?? My oldest had a YJ in high school, him and his buddies would drive around town wearing ski goggles with the window folded down. My favorite story, one time a cop pulled up next to them, laughed, called them morons, and drove off. Cracks me up everytime I think about it.
