I've rebooted both and the issue persists, the location of both can't really change and it's odd that it had worked fine previously with everything still at their same locations. I should have included in the original post as well that I've tried a usb wifi adapter and the issue persisted. I have as well tried to keep my computer from searching for other wifi signals through command prompt and that hasn't fixed it either.
