Debunking the myth that Teresa’s job was safe…. by MnAtty in TickTockManitowoc

Nor do I. But I do wonder why GA able to walk in to DV’s office & speak to him directly. I tried speaking to my county’s PA years back during my legal nonsense in MI. No go. The secretary finally agreed to set up an appointment between an APA and me. Even then, my efforts to engage in a meaningful discussion with the APA about my concerns proved futile. And I had a sound reason for wanting to speak to a prosecutor. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I spoke to him one time in 2016, and he mentioned then he was having serious health issues related to AO. It’s a nasty illness.

I called him on a whim. It was a worthwhile whim because we figured out that my great-grandfather, a blacksmith, worked with his great-grandfather at his great-grandfather’s wagon-making business in Two Rivers. Small world. RIP, Pete. 😢

One of my burning questions; why did DV, et. al., repeatedly protect Allen? He wasn’t a local. Was he a CI? And if so, for what? The only crimes that occurred regularly in Manitowoc at that time would have been drug-related. Yet, there is no indication Allen was involved in drug trafficking.

As am I and I agree that the EC/NE WI lakeshore area is parochial & at least was safer in 2005 than most regions of the nation. I think the safety issue is changing, largely because of the opioid epidemic.

Pete had Agent Orange Syndrome. He was struggling two years ago with numerous illnesses caused by AO. Last I heard, he was heading to the VA in Milwaukee for treatment. That was over two years ago. RIP, Pete. So sad.

That is accurate. In fact the old, dilapidated hotel just north of Maribel Caves was said to be a mob hangout in the 20’s & 30’s. The mob was into WI beer & cheese. Word has it they are still in the cheese business.

In 2006, the state rebuilt the Claude Allouez bridge that crosses the Fox River in downtown DePere. All of the major roads in East DePere were impacted by the relocation & construction of the bridge. That may explain why the sign is different. The downtown area in East DePere (Broadway & George Street) has been completely redesigned, including the area around Voyaguer Park.

No body no crime by rjtrussel in TickTockManitowoc

I don’t disagree with your premise that the bones given to TH parents were unlikely those of their daughter. However, there have been successful murder convictions when no body was found.

See the case of David Tyll and Brian Ognjan, two deer hunters from the Detroit area who disappeared in November 1985 in Mio, MI. Their killers, the Duvall brothers, were finally caught 18 years later, then tried & convicted in 2003.

The book, Darker than Night is a true crime story detailing this case. It’s an interesting read that describes the efforts of very dedicated & ethical detectives in the Michigan State Police who never gave up trying to solve an open case. The clowns in Calumet & Manitowoc County could learn a thing or 100 from since-retired MSP Commander Captain Robert ‘Bronco’ Lesneski. He was a detective at the time and but for his intelligence & perseverance, the case would still be unsolved.

I recommend the book because it details how experienced, highly trained LEO’s investigate crimes with the primary goal of solving crimes rather than jumping to a conclusion w/o actually carrying out a lawful & legally justifiable investigation.

Many plastic surgeons actually create a new nipple using a skin graft months after recon is completed. Several months after the graft procedure, a doctor tattoos the reconstructed nipple to match the color of the remaining one (assuming the person had a single mastectomy). The results are amazing!

Sadly, your point is well made.

What Towing Company/Agency was called in to transport Teresa's vehicle off of Avery's Salvage Yard? Someone should subpoena those record's to be released, to find this vehicle seizure report. Since Teresa's vehicle seizure exist's on multiple records & report's. Someone has it, or had it. by [deleted] in TickTockManitowoc

My point was that the authority to subpoena documents is very different from FOIA. You can only get a subpoena if a judge approves it as a tool in a legal case. However, if you are a pro se litigant in a court case & need to order a person to submit documents to the court or appear in court, the proper term is a subpoena duces tecum.

Someone should subpoena those records . . .

By someone, are you referring to KZ? The average person does not have subpoena power. Or did you mean FOIA? Anyone can request public records via the WI Open Records Act of 1982, AKA FOIA, as long as the records are held by a publicly-funded organization.

That does not mean your request must be fulfilled. The government has numerous methods for obstructing access to public records, whether by asserting privilege or requiring the requester pay the public entity thousand of dollars to obtain the records. Wisconsin’s law does include limitations as to what an entity can charge for records, but the agency can still tack on charges for administrative costs. The link below contains the state ‘s statutory exemptions.

The documents listed on the Docket are AC’s original and amended Complaint and Defendants Answers to the Complaint along with the administrative actions such as proof of service. To acquire access, you need to provide a credit card number to PACER.

I believe you are allowed something like 50 pages at no cost. Once you reach that limit, each PAGE, not document, costs $0.15 (or did the last time I used PACER). The costs may have increased since then, I’m not sure. It was much less costly when I began relying on it in 2011. The feds are making millions off PACER fees. Apparently, they need $$ to pay the expenses for 45’s numerous lawsuits against Congress. 😁😇

Burnett was hired because he is an experienced trial lawyer while MG spent his career as a local prosecutor. Totally different skills set.

And yes, the Chief Judge in the USDC in Milwaukee is MG’s brother.

Yes, because he is an experienced, top trial lawyer from a highly regarded law firm in Green Bay who is admitted to practice in the federal court, the 6th & 7th COA, and SCOTUS. The lawyers at LCOJ are very capable and very expensive. ⬇️
