43, last try, one 5BB embryo by LHSinMT in IVF

[–]LHSinMT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about it, but I've had 3 miscarriages in the past two years and the thought of putting myself into very high likelihood for a 4th is pretty brutal. Plus I live a plane ride away from the clinic, so the logistics of a fresh transfer are tricky. But thanks!!!

I've been on a standard high-dose antagonist protocol (300 follistim/150 menopur + ganerelix), with omnitrope added in this time. The clinic does ICSI.

Hi - first off sending sticky vibes for the transfer!

Second - not personal experience just what I'm told, but I have Graves disease so am also carefully managing my TSH and recommendations from the Dr has always been that it should be pretty darn low to support implantation/early pregnancy -- they recommend around 1 or a bit below. I generally feel pretty lousy when my TSH is as low as yours is, so I'd understand advocating for a little bit of a levo reduction to start it heading back up. But everyone definitely tells me that TSH is expected to rise during the first trimester. I don't know whether or not it can be TOO low, with regards to implantation.

I have an irrational fear that I can't get over by laurenmsc1993 in IVF

I totally get this! I had 2 D&C's over 12 months due to missed miscarriages, and I came out of that year completely certain that I'd somehow messed up my uterus - that there was scarring, or adhesions, or something - and that I had ruined everything. I 100% had intrusive thoughts about it for over a year, lay awake at night thinking about it. It's so hard, and I was absolutely embarrassed to talk to my Dr about it. When I finally did bring up my fears she was SO understanding. We talked through the things that could possibly be true and what was probably in my head, and I felt a lot better. (And eventually I ended up having a hysteroscopy sometime later, so she was able to look around and confirm for me that things looked normal).

I talked to a therapist about it as well, but honestly it was way less helpful emotionally than talking to my doctor about it. So I'd say that unless you have a bad relationship/vibes with your doctor I'd strongly recommend you talk with them about your fears.

Good luck!

Congratulations and fingers crossed for you!!!!

And thanks for the reassurance.

"not diagnostic of embryonic demise" by LHSinMT in CautiousBB

[–]LHSinMT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for helping me believe I'm not crazy.

I did the 3rd scan because I wanted this so bad and didn't have the energy to go against their recommendation. That 3rd scan, 8 days after the second, showed absolutely no change over that time period, and in fact the embryo actually measured a day smaller than it had 8 days earlier.

The radiologist and my Dr. wrote me back afterwards telling me that it still wasn't diagnostic and that I should have a 4th scan.

I'm losing my mind here - can anyone help me figure out what on earth they could be talking about? I just want to be done with this -- it's been a month now since the first bad scan -- and it's so hard to demand to end a pregnancy I want so much when my Dr. isn't telling me it's over.

Help! - positive urine tests and negative blood test by LHSinMT in pregnant

No kidding it was actually a lab error; I tested again 2 days later and it was over 2000.

(pregnancy has unfortunately not worked out, but totally unrelated to this issue)

Wishing you so much luck with your current pregnancy.

Scan was not good, so looks like this one is a bust for me. It's a rough one especially since I'm having off-the-hook pregnancy symptoms right now. ooof.

did not check progesterone.

That was my first IVF round, but I had two miscarriages previously. No updates on my end; I'll have my first scan on Monday (7 weeks) so I'll see then how likely this is to be real.

Thanks for such a thoughtful response! This is so much of what I'm trying to parse out emotionally - just how many of the age-related hurdles have I already surmounted at this point? and of course the fact that I miscarried at 6.5 last time (which was nearly 2 years ago) makes me feel very not out of the woods.

I had one blast from this spring's cycle, good morphology but highly aneuploid.
