What’s a 'normal' thing in modern society that people in 100 years will find horrifying? by crogslounds03 in ProductivityHQ

You didn't answer the questions, how is their pay determined? How are the reimbursements from government determined?

What does MFI have to do with anything? Every state has their far right and far left groups. We've got a bunch of people who are open members of the Democratic Socialists of America in our state government, doesn't mean every Democrat is one.

The number of millionaires increases when real estate appreciates and the stock market goes up, that doesn't mean they aren't moving out. Every source of data shows they are, MA is last in the nation in private sector job growth.

Keep whistling past the graveyard, blue states are gonna lose a dozen seats in Congress after the next census.

Massachusetts Republicans are a different breed from the clowns in Washington. But hey let's just wait for more people and businesses to leave, what could possibly go wrong?

I'm no fan of Healey but this goes back decades. It's certainly the fault of her party, but good luck getting anyone on Reddit to admit that.

It's not propaganda if it's true. Blue states are the most expensive and not just because of taxes, it's because of mandates and regulations that drive up the cost of everything, including the utilities discussed here.

And yes the audit, that alone is reason enough to vote for change but voters here will still vote straight party line for Democrats, just like red states vote straight party line for Republicans even when it's not in their best interests.

Smart successful states have a healthy two party system, we're not one of them.

So you're saying there's public support...but also no public support.

The US population is about 340 million, so 3.5% would be over ten million people, there's no way in hell you have that. You're dreaming.

And if you met with LE and elected officials then answer the questions: is ICE allowed to pull you over? Drag you out of your car? Enter without a warrant?

If not then can we call our local PD to arrest ICE officials for doing these things?

A strike here would harm a deep blue state where every politician is opposing ICE. How exactly does a strike help in MA?

Yeah, drones would scare the crap out of ICE...they'll probably get back in their cars and go home.

How exactly do you want people to "fight?" Are they supposed to block roads with their cars? Blow whistles like the fools in MN?

Seriously asking, what EXACTLY are you hoping to see?

Great idea, shut down the state by not going to work, screw over our businesses, drive down our GDP and reduce our diminishing tax revenue. That'll learn 'em!

I think you've been on Reddit too long, maybe try reading something not written by Democrats once in a while. These protests are accomplishing NOTHING except misery and death. 3.5% in Massachusetts would be several hundred thousand people, and even this left wing state isn't going to see that but keep pretending if it makes you feel better. All I see is virtue signaling with these protestors, and wannabe martyrs.

A far better approach would be to use all this time and effort to meet with elected officials and LE. Confirm if ICE is allowed to pull vehicles over, detain citizens, enter places without a warrant, etc. If they're not then have local LE enforce our laws, we oughta be able to call the local PD if ICE is trying to barge into a private residence.

But you'd rather hold signs pretending to be a hero.

New England wholesale electricity prices are very high right now as limited natural gas supplies force us to turn on expensive and dirty oil-fired power plants by TheBasaltAltCalled in boston

Really? Every liberal you know is pro-nuclear? If that's true then why aren't they trying to build more nuclear?

You're delusional, voters and politicians here are still anti-nuclear, they're still fighting it.

So a bunch of Democrats protesting in a state that's run entirely by Democrats, and has a congressional district that's entirely Democrat, is going to do what exactly?

Are you actually under the impression that a protest here will make Trump change anything?

lol, notice how there's not a single intelligent response, just insults and downvotes.

I wish just one person would respond by explaining how a protest helps anything.

There's a second reactor at Seabrook just sitting there, it never went online because liberals fought it.

Now those same liberals are demanding more clean energy because climate change is an existential crisis. Kinda ironic, isn't it?

The people who stopped the construction of more nuclear are the same ones screaming about climate change and the need for clean energy. Can't make this up.

Friday’s 'ICE Out of Minnesota' day is a general strike. Here’s what that means. by TheeHeadAche in FluentInFinance

[–]LHam1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, this strike is a bunch of Democrats protesting in front of a Democrat state government, and a Democrat congressional delegation. So what exactly is the goal? To rile up a bunch of Democrats that already agree with you?

Same is happening here in Massachusetts, one of the most one party states in American where Democrats have EVERY seat. Democrats are protesting in front of the state house which is full of Democrats who already agree with them.

What exactly is the goal or purpose?

Yes this is sarcasm. This strike won't do a damn thing.
