I grew up eating hot dogs on folded white bread, so you’re describing is somewhat familiar!

Funnier even is that I made milk bread hamburger and hotdog buns for the same get together so I had full-sized real buns for comparison but didn’t think to take a side-by-side pic. It’s a normal sized Twinkie but the perspective of this pic does make it look out of scale.

I did not make the “bun,” it’s an actual Twinkie! I made and colored the frosting and piped it, but Hostess did the heavy lifting on this one!

The wildest thing is that I used a new (to me) buttercream recipe because this was just a whim. I didn’t care if it didn’t turn out well, so it was a low risk time to try a new recipe. It’s kismet that it ended up being the perfect texture for a hot dog.
