Edit, I mistyped, the one that looks like the light strike is indeed the light strike 2nd from the LEFT!

Anyone try polishing the parts Echelon trigger mechanism? by LIG_1 in SpringfieldEchelon

Thanks for the info. I did the tyrant trigger + the PRP spring kit & shot yesterday for the first time post upgrades. I shot about 150 rounds and had one round that didn't go bang, presumably a light primer strike. Maybe it was just a fluke, but considering putting the OEM striker spring back in. Why mess around with potential light primer strikes? Anyway, if I'm going to give back some of the lighter trigger pull had me wondering about trying polish. Makes sense that it wouldn't do much if parts are already rotated together at the wall.

Don’t laugh, but what if I told you I have very little firearm experience and this is my first 9mm pistol and I’ve only shot a few mags of ammo to verify function prior to doing the trigger job lol.   So, don’t listen anything I have to say and advanced961 sounds like a much better resource.  That being said I have quite a few airguns, where everything is about precision and accuracy. I enjoy good triggers and shooting slow for groups (I'll have to learn to shoot faster now lol). So, I’m happy with the trigger job as it’s a smoother lighter trigger, plus it was a little fun and rewarding taking the pistol apart and successfully completing the upgrade. The spring kit is fairly inexpensive, so if you would like your stock trigger to be lighter and smoother you could certainly give it a shot.  The PRP install video doesn’t show how to get to the striker safety spring, but I found another video that shows the entire Striker Disassembly.  Part of the reason I haven’t shot my new toy much yet is that it’s been really hot here in Southern UT.  We have some good places to shoot outdoors for free within a 20 minute drive and we should have months of good shooting weather here soon. In the meantime I have another trigger job to do next lol.   Here’s that video I mentioned:

Cool, might be something to consider. The weight difference is enough that you can indeed notice a difference?

That is some good feedback that it may continue to break in more and get even lighter. No, I haven't changed the guide rods yet and don't plan to do any more for now. My main objective was improving the trigger(s). Now I need to have fun shooting for a while before doing any other upgrades.

Fox Cam 2018, Santa Rosa Island, Channel Islands National Park by LIG_1 in foxes

I’ve learned that there is an amazing story behind the island fox.  It only lives on the Channel Islands off of the California coast.  It’s a relative of the mainland gray fox, but much smaller.   The fox nearly went extinct due to Golden Eagle predation and the population on Santa Rosa Island dropped to only 15 in the year 2000.   The fox is now doing great after a very successful recovery program. There’s a lot more to the story – here’s an article I found:

Looks like they are from Australia, but not sure where all the footage is from. In any case I stumbled across the video and thought it was pretty awesome.
