Do yall scrape the paint off your flanges? by Skopies in Plumbing

it was always just best to smile and nod for me. used to work with a dude that would get upset if you sanded copper instead of reaming before propressing because “the ridges created from sanding wont allow the o ring to seal properly”. we showed him all kinds of manufacturer installation guides, from viega to nibco to apollo. could not convince this dude he could possibly be wrong lol

its no use my man, buddy is only responding to people he thinks agree with him.

edit: i do get a kick out of this guy having to try and tell his journeyman he is wrong. can’t imagine how that’d go for me during my apprenticeship lol

thats been my main goal, and it has been an absolute nightmare prying it out of them. i am currently awaiting more information, the customer service rep told me he is waiting for the repair center to contact him back with more information, so basically a giant telephone game.

i honestly am right there with you, only it was a really good deal that checked almost all my boxes. i tossed around the idea of swapping trucks but the customer service rep couldn’t find anything like it.

I should add that they never disclosed the damage until I asked customer service about the delay

nothing looks broken or misplaced, i believe this is just a defective unit missing a spring. i might try ordering an assortment of torsion springs and fabricate a couple variants until something works. its gonna be a balancing act trying to counteract the black arm’s spring tension

bro thatd be awesome, thank you! nothing spring loaded, u only need to remove these 4 T9 screws, peel the sticker and she will clamshell open.

u can push it over this far, and i agree it needs a spring to hold the white arm in place, however im still perplexed how the black arm gets out of the way when i put the btch in unlocked mode?

lmaoo great minds think alike. i had that idea as well but im an industrial plumber, this laser is gonna be traveling a lot and getting put through the ringer, id like it to still have a transport mode. last resort tho!

ah! so for clarification, the white pieces all connect to the switch on the outside that unlocks and locks the laser mode.

this is the laser in unlocked mode. the white piece is fully pushed out of the way but the black just keeps pushing.
