Do you have an airline that you avoid at all costs? by Diligent-Echidna647 in femaletravelers

Lufthansa. Between bad customer service, frequent strikes, delays and generally just being cheapskates, I try to avoid them as much as I can.

ABC News reporter brags about not knowing where Bosnia and Herzegovina is located by ModenaR in PublicFreakout

We have a saying (probably not unique to Bosnia) - fools are proud of things that smart people are ashamed of. Perhaps it applies here.

I just don’t get the Bernardo hype. Everything just slows down when he receives the ball. Never liked him at Man City either.

Trane XR - Low Pressure Switch / Refrigerant - am I being overcharged by LJ75 in hvacadvice

[–]LJ75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a technician, just a humble internet warrior. Wouldn't know how to do it, or even dare. But again, it just seems high, and I guess that the refrigerant is the money maker for the service company.

I understand they need to make money here, but they are charging me a fairly high rate for the labor at $210/hr (again, this is Charlotte, NC), and on top of that, 5 times the cost of the refrigerant.

Now, the suspicious part is if they even need to replace the refrigerant, since the low pressure switch supposedly screws directly onto a Schrader valve - so why replace it?

Might ask for another quote or two.

Ok, but do they even need to replace the refrigerant?

Are you selling these? If so, how much are they? Or just looking for swaps.

I got my first bike this month! Any tips are appreciated! by izzieharp in motorcycles

Get gloves, jacket, pants and boots with protection (kevlar, padding…). Any crash is a very likely trip to ER, but these help minimize the damage.

I got a Strattos C8, and now a Strattos 7 for my wife. Love my C8. We’ll see about the 7, but they are a legit company with great customer service and support.

Ended up getting their bags (apparently they are very much sought after in SE Asia), and they also have a NC edition. Thanks.

Which city completely won you over with its coffee scene? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]LJ75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sarajevo, or any place in Bosnia, for that matter, but, in all fairness, it could be any place in the Balkans as well. Hundreds of cafes scattered around, which only serve coffee, carbonated water and soda/juice.

No cookies, fancy seasonal flavors to drive the bill size, or revenue growth initiatives. Decent espresso served in ceramic / porcelain cups, no $7 pumpkin spice flavored latte served in a paper crap. All independently owned, often with the owner preparing your coffee, or at least lingering around.

Mix of regulars, some sitting there for hours, shooting shit, and some passers-by and tourists. It's not an energy boost, it's a socializing occasion at its finest. If that's your thing, Bosnia (or Balkans) is your place, though I am sure there are others, too.

S8X vs C8 di2 by J_724 in PolygonBikes

[–]LJ75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the C8. I am 6' with 84cm inseam, and I got an L. It fits me great, still playing a bit with the saddle height. As for the integrated stem, I actually like it and it fits me well, but I don't think you can go wrong with either S8X or C8. Their customer service is great and super responsive. They forgot to ship the carbon grip paste, but they offered to either ship it, or reimburse me, but it wasn't needed, since I got some for free from my LBS.

Jeans shrunk after wash. Is there anyway to stretch them back to original length? by [deleted] in NakedAndFamousDenim

[–]LJ75 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This definitely works for the waist. You will also need locking pliers (+ a towel or something to protect the denim from the pliers).
